The deal will see CoreWeave supply computing power for both the development and deployment of Claude. The rollout begins later this year on a phased basis, with the potential to grow over time.
CRWV jumped 4.3% in premarket trading on Friday after the news dropped.
CoreWeave, Inc. Class A Common Stock, CRWV
CEO Michael Intrator framed it simply: “AI is no longer just about infrastructure, it’s about the platforms that turn models into real-world impact.”
The Anthropic announcement came just 24 hours after CoreWeave revealed an expanded $21 billion agreement with Meta Platforms. That deal also included two bond offerings. CRWV rose 3.5% on Thursday following that news, pushing its year-to-date gain to 28%.
That’s a lot of good news in a short window â and Wall Street noticed.
Nine of the Top Ten
With Anthropic now on board, CoreWeave says nine of the leading 10 AI model providers use its platform. That’s a number the company is clearly proud of, and for good reason.
The company operates data centers stocked with Nvidia’s high-end GPUs â the hardware that hyperscalers have been scrambling to get their hands on. CoreWeave sits squarely in the path of that demand.
Building out that capacity doesn’t come cheap. CoreWeave is in the middle of a large, debt-financed data center expansion across the US. That makes landing customers like Anthropic and Meta more than a revenue story â it’s a validation story.
The Bigger Picture for CRWV
Investors have been watching CoreWeave’s customer list closely. Each new major name signals that the company can win and hold contracts with the most important players in AI.
Meta and Anthropic are not small wins. These are two of the most active builders in the AI space, and both are now committed to using CoreWeave’s infrastructure over multiple years.
The phased nature of the Anthropic deal is worth noting. It starts smaller and scales up. That’s typical for infrastructure contracts of this size, but it also means the revenue ramp may be gradual.
Still, the direction is clear. CoreWeave is locking in long-term relationships with AI’s biggest names at a time when demand for compute is only heading one way.
CoreWeave’s stock was up 3.49% as of the latest session, with premarket gains of 4.3% following the Anthropic deal announcement.
