The new funding will expand data centres and artificial intelligence infrastructure across the country.
This brings Amazon’s total planned investment in Spain to €33.7 billion.
The investment is the company’s largest technology commitment in Spain.
It comes as Amazon marks 15 years of operations in the country.
The expansion will focus on Amazon Web Services infrastructure.
The company aims to deliver more cloud and AI capabilities across Europe.
Amazon said the investment will support growing demand for cloud computing.
It will also support rising demand for artificial intelligence tools.
The company confirmed that new data centre infrastructure will be built in Aragón.
Facilities will span Zaragoza, Huesca, and Teruel.
Amazon launched its AWS Europe Spain region in Aragón in November 2022.
The region has supported cloud adoption by businesses and public institutions.
Investment and Economic Impact
Amazon estimates the total investment will contribute €31.7 billion to Spain’s GDP through 2035.
The company expects the expansion to support about 29,900 full-time equivalent jobs each year.
Around 6,700 of those roles will come directly from Amazon operations.
These include data centre staff, engineers, and support roles.
Additional employment will come from suppliers and construction partners.
Indirect and induced roles will also support the broader economy.
Amazon plans to build supply chain facilities to support data centre operations.
These facilities will include a server manufacturing and testing plant.
A dedicated AI and machine learning server repair facility is also planned.
A fulfillment warehouse will support infrastructure operations.
When fully operational, these supply chain sites are expected to create about 1,800 jobs.
All facilities will be located within Aragón.
Amazon said more than half of the total economic impact will be concentrated in Aragón.
The region is projected to receive €18.5 billion in GDP contribution through 2035.
AI and Cloud Expansion Plans
Amazon stated the investment will expand cloud and AI services across Europe.
Businesses and organizations will gain access to new computing capacity.
The company said the infrastructure will help accelerate AI adoption.
It will also support modernization for European organizations.
Amazon confirmed plans to invest €30 million in community programs through 2035.
These programs will focus on education, sustainability, and local development.
The company has invested more than €20 billion in Spain since 2011.
This includes logistics, retail, cloud infrastructure, and innovation projects.
Amazon also plans to invest in renewable energy projects tied to the new infrastructure.
AWS data centres in Aragón have matched electricity use with renewable energy since 2022.
The company said it will continue training programs in digital and AI skills.
AWS has trained more than 200,000 people in Spain since 2017.

Construction and expansion activity is expected to continue through 2035.
