TLDR
- Bitcoin crossed $64,000 in Asian trading Monday but remains down nearly 3% on the week
- Hyperliquid’s HYPE was the best performer, up 9% on the week to around $59
- Stock futures were little changed Sunday night ahead of major retailer earnings
- Walmart and Target are set to report earnings this week
- Fed minutes from the July meeting are due Wednesday and could move both markets
Bitcoin crossed $64,000 during Asian morning hours on Monday, up about half a percent on the day. Despite the small daily gain, it is still down nearly 3% over the past week.

The broader crypto market saw small gains on Sunday across all major tokens. However, most are still in the red for the week. Bitcoin, Ether, XRP, and Solana have all lost ground over seven days.
Hyperliquid’s HYPE was the clear standout. It rose over 3% on the day to around $59 and is up nearly 9% on the week, making it the only major token with a meaningful weekly gain.
Ethereum climbed just over 1% to near $1,900 but is still down 1% on the week. Dogecoin added close to 1%, while XRP moved marginally higher to $1 but is down 3% over seven days.
Solana edged up to just over $75, down nearly 2% on the week. BNB slipped slightly to around $604 and was flat for the week.
The US dollar softened, with a Bloomberg gauge slipping 0.1% toward a third straight decline, hitting levels last seen in May. An MSCI index tracking emerging-market currencies hit an intraday record, led by the Taiwanese dollar and Thai baht.
US retail sales data released Friday showed the sharpest monthly drop in over a year. That pushed down expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike, with traders now pricing in roughly a one-in-four chance of a hike next month, down from about 50% a week ago.
Nick Ruck, director of LVRG Research, said the crypto market remains stalled near $63,000. He pointed to fading ETF inflows as a sign of low optimism following last week’s selloff.
Ruck flagged two key events to watch this week: the release of the FOMC minutes on Wednesday and a White House crypto meeting. Both could shape the outlook on regulation and monetary policy.
Stock Futures Flat as Retailer Earnings Season Kicks Off
US stock futures were little changed on Sunday night. Dow Jones futures were flat, S&P 500 futures were flat, and Nasdaq 100 futures edged up 0.1%.

Walmart and Target are among the major retailers set to report earnings this week. Their results will give a clearer picture of how consumers are spending after the weak retail sales report.
Geopolitical tension between the US and Iran also continues. President Trump said the US could take over the Strait of Hormuz after defeating Iran. Iran’s Major General Amir Hatami pushed back, saying America would regret the move.

Oil prices rose. Brent crude gained nearly 6% on Friday to $88.52 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate settled at $82.40. On Sunday, both contracts edged slightly higher.
The Dow Jones ended last week down 0.6%, snapping a two-week winning streak. The S&P 500 finished up 0.4% and is up 13.7% for the year. The Nasdaq closed up 0.1% for the week and is up 15% year to date.
The Fed minutes from the July 28-29 meeting are due Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET. They will reveal how close the committee came to raising rates before last week’s data shifted expectations.
