IREN Limited (IREN) advanced after announcing a $625 million all-share deal to acquire Mirantis. IREN stock rose 8.37% to $49.48, then gained 1.56% pre-market to $50.26. The move strengthens its AI Cloud strategy and expands its software infrastructure capabilities.
IREN Adds Mirantis to Expand AI Cloud Operations
IREN said the acquisition will improve how it deploys, manages, and supports compute services. The company already provides AI Cloud services across different workloads. Rising deployments require stronger tools for provisioning, monitoring, and enterprise support.
Mirantis brings cloud infrastructure experience, Kubernetes-based orchestration, and enterprise support services. The company has served more than 1,500 enterprise customers worldwide. It is a founding Independent Software Vendor partner in the NVIDIA AI Cloud Ready Initiative.
The deal supports IREN’s push beyond data center capacity and GPU deployment. It also adds software depth to its existing engineering and customer service base. The transaction gives IREN more control across the AI infrastructure stack.
Mirantis Deal Strengthens Deployment and Support
IREN expects Mirantis to improve four key areas across its platform. These include deployment capability, operational visibility, customer support, and broader market access. Mirantis will help manage workloads across bare metal, virtual machines, and Kubernetes systems.
The company’s k0rdent AI platform supports infrastructure management across complex cloud environments. This fits IREN’s growing focus on large-scale AI compute delivery. The platform adds another software layer to IREN’s bare metal GPU infrastructure.
Mirantis will operate as a standalone subsidiary after the deal closes. It will continue serving its existing customers and support IREN’s AI Cloud deployments. The transaction still requires customary conditions and regulatory approvals.
Mirantis Adds Enterprise Reach to IREN’s Platform
The acquisition gives IREN a stronger position in AI infrastructure services. The company can combine large-scale power, data centers, GPUs, and cloud operations. It can offer customers more complete compute deployment and management support.
The deal also gives IREN access to Mirantis’ enterprise customer base. That base may support growth across AI-native users and larger enterprise workloads. The acquisition reinforces IREN’s shift toward integrated AI Cloud infrastructure.
