Alpaca’s brokerage infrastructure powers the platform’s backend, ensuring compliance and execution for traditional assets. Users can mint and redeem tokenized securities five days a week, mimicking traditional markets while maintaining blockchain accessibility. These assets are fully backed and held by US-regulated broker-dealers and security agents.
Ondo’s new product addresses long-standing access issues, such as high fees and regional restrictions. Global users from Asia-Pacific, Africa, and Latin America can now engage in tokenized stock trading previously limited by geography. With plans to expand to over 1,000 assets by year-end, Ondo aims to reshape financial access at scale.
Tokenized Assets Become Fully Transferable and DeFi-Compatible
Ondo tokenized stocks are supported on Ethereum and soon will be available on Solana and BNB Chain. The platform uses LayerZero for interoperability, enhancing onchain usability across ecosystems. Users can transfer tokenized stocks between wallets, exchanges, and protocols without intermediaries.
The assets behave like stablecoins in DeFi protocols, enabling integrations with lending, trading, and automated strategies. Ondo’s approach to tokenized equities includes high liquidity, peer-to-peer transferability, and round-the-clock access. This flexibility distinguishes Ondo from siloed tokenization efforts with limited transfer scope.
At launch, major wallets and infrastructure providers, including OKX Wallet, Trust Wallet, Ledger, and BitGo, supported the assets. Chainlink supplies price oracles to ensure the accurate valuation of tokenized stocks onchain. Ondo combines DeFi functionality with traditional financial backing, offering a new hybrid market model.
Ecosystem Integration and Institutional Liquidity Expansion
Ondo has integrated with Block Street, a platform offering institutional-grade liquidity for tokenized stocks. Block Street introduces two-way markets, enabling borrowing and shorting of tokenized assets like TSLAon and AAPLon. Users can lend, borrow, and hedge with these tokenized instruments directly onchain.
The integration allows users to borrow USDT using tokenized stocks and vice versa, increasing market depth. Backed by firms like Citadel and Jane Street, Block Street aims to scale liquidity infrastructure for tokenized markets. Over 200,000 users tested the system, showing early traction for institutional DeFi tools.
1inch upgraded its Swap API to provide jurisdiction-aware access to tokenized assets via Ondo. This enhances trading efficiency and broadens access through the 1inch ecosystem. Ondo continues to secure partnerships that support its goal of global tokenized securities access.
