The UK has imposed new sanctions targeting a major Crypto Scam network linked to Southeast Asia’s fraud operations. Authorities aim to disrupt illicit cryptocurrency platforms that enable large-scale online fraud and human exploitation. The move intensifies efforts to dismantle organized Crypto Scam systems affecting British nationals and global victims.
UK Targets Xinbi Crypto Marketplace in Crackdown
The UK sanctioned Xinbi, a cryptocurrency marketplace linked to regional Crypto Scam operations across Southeast Asia. The platform enabled the sale of stolen data and tools used in organized fraud schemes. Authorities aim to weaken the financial backbone supporting Crypto Scam activities.
Xinbi supported scam centres by offering crypto services that facilitated payments and anonymous transactions across borders. It provided satellite equipment that allowed scammers to reach victims globally. These capabilities strengthened the scale and reach of each Crypto Scam network.
The sanctions restrict Xinbi’s access to legitimate crypto systems and limit its transaction capabilities. As a result, authorities expect immediate disruption across connected fraud operations. This action follows earlier measures that shut down BYEX, another Crypto Scam-linked platform.
Cambodia Scam Centres Linked to Trafficking and Fraud
Investigators linked the Crypto Scam network to large compounds operating across Cambodia and neighboring regions. These centres used deceptive job offers to traffic foreign nationals into forced fraud operations. Consequently, victims faced threats and abuse while carrying out Crypto Scam activities.
Authorities identified #8 Park as one of the largest scam compounds supporting these operations. The site reportedly housed up to 20,000 trafficked individuals forced into online fraud schemes. Therefore, the crackdown directly targets a central hub within the Crypto Scam ecosystem.
The UK also sanctioned Legend Innovation Co., which operates the #8 Park compound linked to the Prince Group. Additionally, officials targeted key individuals managing financial networks tied to Crypto Scam activities. These actions aim to disrupt leadership structures behind the operations.
International Coordination Expands Enforcement Efforts
The UK coordinated previous sanctions with the United States against the Prince Group and its leadership. These actions triggered regional investigations and asset seizures exceeding £1 billion. Enforcement pressure continues to weaken the broader Crypto Scam network.
Cambodian authorities have intensified domestic crackdowns following international cooperation efforts. Officials reported thousands of raids, closures of scam centres, and rescues of trafficked individuals. These developments reflect growing regional resistance against organized Crypto Scam operations.
The UK plans to expand global coordination through upcoming financial crime initiatives and partnerships. Authorities will focus on tracking illicit crypto flows and blocking cross-border fraud networks. Therefore, continued enforcement aims to reduce the global impact of Crypto Scam systems.
