Smart Energy Pays has announced its official expansion into the United States, marking a strategic step in the company’s global growth roadmap. Operated by industrial fintech firm Smart Energy Pay Solution Ltd., the platform is positioning itself as a financial infrastructure layer designed to support real-world economic applications rather than speculative crypto use cases.
North America remains one of the most important markets for digital financial infrastructure, payments, and blockchain-based systems. High institutional participation, regulatory clarity, and widespread adoption of digital settlement models continue to make the U.S. a critical scaling environment. According to Statista, the U.S. fintech market is expected to exceed $330 billion in volume by 2026, significantly outpacing comparable European markets.
“Our focus is not on short-term crypto trends,” said Dirk Delitz, CEO of Smart Energy Pays. “We are building a resilient infrastructure that enables real economic activity and can scale globally.”
The U.S. expansion is supported by a deliberately structured infrastructure setup. A key component is the listing of the SEP utility token on UZX, a centralized digital asset exchange with an international focus. The listing is intended to enhance liquidity, improve price discovery, and facilitate institutional access to the SEP ecosystem.
At the technological core lies the Smart Energy Chain, an independent Layer-1 blockchain designed for scalability and real-event processing. The network underpins transactions, validations, and applications across the ecosystem.
Smart Energy Pays operates as a financial and access platform, connecting fiat and digital payment flows while enabling international settlement processes. The SEP token functions exclusively as a technical utility for fees, validations, and settlement processes and is not positioned as an investment product.
Security and compliance remain central to the platform’s architecture. The company adheres to ISO 27001 standards, PCI-DSS and SOC-2 requirements, implements KYC and AML procedures, and works with cybersecurity firm Hacken for independent audits. ISO 20022-compliant messaging standards are currently being implemented.
