Super Micro Computer, Inc., SMCI
SMCI reported adjusted EPS of $1.70 on revenue of $11.1 billion. Analysts had been expecting EPS of $0.92 and revenue of $11.6 billion. A year ago, the company posted EPS of $0.41 on revenue of $5.8 billion.
The after-hours move put the stock at around $34.74, up roughly $3.14 from its regular session close of $31.60.

Gross margins came in at 17.6% for the quarter. That beat the company’s own preliminary estimate of 15% to 17%, which it issued back on July 21.
CEO Charles Liang credited surging enterprise demand, saying the company added several hundred new customers in the past year and generated more than $60 billion in new orders.
“We booked record backlog entering fiscal 2027,” Liang said in the earnings release.
Guidance Blows Past Estimates
The real head-turner was the Q1 guidance. Super Micro expects first-quarter revenue between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion. Analysts were penciling in $11.9 billion.
That would represent a 189% to 209% jump from the prior year’s $5.02 billion in the same quarter.
Full-year fiscal 2027 revenue guidance came in at $65 billion to $72 billion, well above the $53 billion Wall Street had expected.
The company has been riding strong AI infrastructure demand, with enterprises racing to build out data center capacity. That demand has also given Super Micro more pricing power, helping margins recover from lows seen earlier in the year.
In June, CEO Liang posted on X that the company planned to co-build a gigawatt-scale data center for SpaceX and xAI within one year.
That same month, Super Micro announced plans to raise up to $7 billion in equity-linked financing to fund its AI buildout.
Regulatory Cloud Remains
Not everything is clean. In April, the Department of Justice indicted SMCI co-founder Yih-Shyan Liaw and two others for allegedly violating U.S. export controls. Super Micro launched an independent investigation following the indictment.
The company was not named as a defendant in the case.
Despite the strong quarter, SMCI stock remains down roughly 30% over the past 12 months. That compares poorly to rivals HPE, up around 160% in the same period, and Dell Technologies, which has climbed more than 230%.
Super Micro was not named as a defendant in the DOJ export controls case.
