Binance is preparing to apply for authorization from Britain’s Financial Conduct Authority as the crypto exchange seeks a stronger return to the UK five years after regulators restricted its local business. The FCA application window opens on September 30, 2026, and closes on February 28, 2027.
The planned application comes as BNB trades near $603, holding above a long-term support area after recovering from its 2026 lows. Binance will need fresh authorization under the Financial Services and Markets Act to conduct activities covered by Britain’s new crypto regime when it takes effect on October 25, 2027. Existing registrations will not automatically transfer into the new framework.
Binance FCA License Bid Opens September 30
The FCA has set a five-month application period for crypto companies seeking approval under the new framework. Firms already registered under anti-money laundering rules will also need authorization for activities covered by the incoming regime.
Applicants must demonstrate that their businesses can be effectively supervised and have suitable resources, controls, and management. Overseas companies can seek UK authorization, although the FCA will assess whether their structure allows effective regulatory oversight.
Those requirements are particularly relevant to Binance given its prior dealings with the regulator. In June 2021, the FCA imposed restrictions on Binance Markets Limited after saying the firm was not capable of being “effectively supervised.” Binance Markets later surrendered its UK permissions in May 2023, leaving no Binance entity authorized to conduct regulated business in Britain.
Binance Compliance Record Remains Part of UK Return
Binance’s UK position tightened again in October 2023 after the FCA restricted Rebuildingsociety.com from approving crypto promotions. Binance then stopped accepting new UK customers while searching for another authorized promotions partner.
The exchange also carries a regulatory record outside Britain. Binance pleaded guilty in the United States in November 2023 to violations involving anti-money laundering requirements, money transmission rules and sanctions laws. The company agreed to penalties totaling about $4.3 billion, while founder Changpeng Zhao separately pleaded guilty to failing to maintain an effective anti-money laundering program.
More recent reports have raised claims involving transactions connected to sanctioned Iranian networks. Binance disputes those allegations and says it has “zero tolerance for sanctions violations or illicit activity.” Those claims remain contested and are separate from the violations covered by Binance’s 2023 guilty plea.
The FCA will independently determine whether Binance meets the standards required under Britain’s new framework. Filing an application therefore does not guarantee approval or a full UK relaunch.
BNB Price Holds Above Key $550 Support
BNB is trading near $603 after recovering from its 2026 lows. The weekly chart places an important long-term support area around $537-$550, where an upward trendline connecting previous market lows remains intact.
The chart also points to a possible head-and-shoulders pattern, though the bearish formation remains unconfirmed as long as BNB stays above $550. A sustained weekly break below that level could weaken the longer-term structure and bring lower support zones back into focus.

BNB would need to maintain prices above roughly $600 and recover higher resistance levels to strengthen the recovery. The more bearish projection toward the $300-$200 range would require a confirmed breakdown below long-term support rather than a temporary move under $550.
Binance’s next formal UK milestone arrives on September 30, when the FCA begins accepting applications under the new crypto authorization regime.
