Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, has received multiple offers from investors that would value it at around $800 billion or higher. The company has so far turned down these approaches, according to people familiar with the matter.

The offers would more than double Anthropic’s $350 billion pre-money valuation from February, when it raised $30 billion in a funding round.
The discussions are described as early-stage. A deal may not happen, and terms could still change. Anthropic has declined to comment on the reports.
Investors have been drawn in by the company’s fast-growing revenue. Anthropic said earlier this month that its annual run-rate revenue had reached $30 billion. That’s up from around $19 billion just a few months ago, and up sharply from $9 billion at the end of 2025.
Much of that growth has come from enterprise customers, businesses using Claude for tasks like coding, data analysis, and cybersecurity.
Revenue Growth Drives Investor Interest
Anthropic has been expanding its product lineup for business users. Its tools are aimed at replacing or automating a range of workplace tasks, putting it in direct competition with OpenAI.
The company raised $30 billion in February at a $380 billion valuation, drawing heavy interest from venture capital firms. The new offers suggest that interest has continued to grow.
While Anthropic has not ruled out raising new capital in the coming months, it is not clear whether it will accept terms at the $800 billion figure.
Alongside the funding talks, Anthropic has also been discussing a public listing. Bloomberg has reported that an IPO could happen as early as October 2026.
New AI Model Raises Safety Questions
Earlier this month, Anthropic unveiled a new model called Mythos. The company described it as its most capable model yet for coding and agentic tasks, meaning it can carry out multi-step actions on its own.
However, Anthropic said it would be irresponsible to release Mythos widely. The reason given was that the model’s advanced coding skills could allow it to identify and exploit software vulnerabilities.
The announcement came after a reported disagreement between Anthropic and the US Department of Defense over the safety of deploying its AI tools.
Anthropic has not yet announced a public release date for Mythos.
The company’s run-rate revenue of $30 billion, announced earlier this month, marks one of the fastest growth periods in the company’s history.
