Intuitive Machines (LUNR) closed 6.16% higher at $13.10, then added 2.98% pre-market to $13.49. The move followed completed acquisitions of Goonhilly Earth Station and COMSAT, two established communications providers. Together, the deals expand the company’s deep space network across the United Kingdom and United States with major ground assets.

Acquisitions Extend Ground Station Coverage
Intuitive Machines now controls major ground station assets serving lunar and deep space missions. The wider network increases visibility across several important Earth viewing arcs. Mission operators can gain more contact opportunities and reduce communication gaps during critical windows.
The company will use the network for communications, data transport, and position, navigation, and timing services. These functions support spacecraft tracking, command delivery, telemetry, and mission data transfer throughout mission timelines. They also strengthen Intuitive Machines’ broader space data network and infrastructure business.
Goonhilly operates established deep space antennas and provides tracking, telecommand, and telemetry services. COMSAT adds further United States ground infrastructure and communications capacity for commercial and government users. Combined, the businesses give Intuitive Machines a larger operational base across two major markets.
Network Will Support IM-3 and Altus-1
Intuitive Machines previously integrated Goonhilly systems into its IM-1 and IM-2 lunar missions. That operating history gives the company practical experience with Goonhilly’s equipment and services. It also creates a clearer path for integrating the newly expanded network.
The company plans to use Goonhilly and related network assets during IM-3 and Altus-1. IM-3 will become Intuitive Machines’ third lunar mission under NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative. Meanwhile, Altus-1 will launch the company’s first lunar data relay satellite.
NASA supports Altus-1 through its Near Space Network Services contract with Intuitive Machines. The satellite will expand data relay options for future lunar operations. Consequently, the ground network will support both direct mission links and wider communications services.
Deals Broaden Space Infrastructure Strategy
The acquisitions extend Intuitive Machines beyond spacecraft development and lunar delivery work. Ground communications now represent a larger part of its end-to-end mission support platform. This shift connects flight systems with tracking, data movement, and navigation services.
Goonhilly and COMSAT also bring civil, commercial, and government customers into the combined network. Their customer bases broaden Intuitive Machines’ reach into related communications and space service markets. The additions may also increase network use across different mission profiles.
Intuitive Machines aims to support missions in Earth orbit, on the Moon, and across deep space. The larger network gives customers more communications capacity and greater scheduling flexibility. Successful integration and contract growth will determine the network’s long-term commercial impact.
