Institutional exposure to XRP is expanding through regulated exchange-traded funds as Morgan Stanley, Bank of Montreal, and National Bank of Canada disclose positions linked to the cryptocurrency. The filings arrive as XRP trades near $1.06, and large holders continue accumulating tokens during the latest price decline.
Morgan Stanley’s second-quarter 2026 Form 13F disclosed positions across the Franklin XRP ETF, REX-Osprey XRP ETF, and Bitwise XRP ETF. The move expands the bank’s XRP-linked holdings from the previous quarter, when it reported only $15,488 spread between the Volatility Shares XRP ETF and Grayscale XRP ETF.
Morgan Stanley Expands XRP ETF Holdings
Morgan Stanley continues to use regulated funds rather than holding XRP directly. The structure provides the firm with exposure to XRP price movements via securities that can be held and traded through traditional brokerage and custody systems.

The Q2 positions mark a broader allocation across different XRP investment products compared with the first quarter. Franklin’s XRP fund holds XRP and cash, while the REX-Osprey product provides spot XRP exposure through an exchange-traded structure.
Canadian banks have also disclosed smaller XRP-linked positions. Bank of Montreal reported 323 shares of the REX-Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF in its latest filing. Those positions remain small within BMO’s roughly $303 billion reportable portfolio.
National Bank of Canada disclosed 3,848 shares of the Bitwise XRP ETF valued at about $330,000. The bank also reported roughly $6.4 million in Bitcoin ETF exposure, making Bitcoin the largest component of its disclosed crypto-linked holdings.
XRP Whales Add 72 Million Tokens as Price Stays Near $1
Large XRP holders are also adding tokens while the price remains under pressure. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez reported that whales bought more than 72 million XRP within 24 hours, extending an accumulation trend seen during the broader market decline.

Buying by large wallets does not confirm that XRP has reached a bottom. Whale accumulation can reflect longer-term positioning or purchases made as prices fall, while further selling can still push the market lower.
XRP network activity has also increased. Active addresses climbed from 23,642 at the start of August to 43,543 by August 11, an increase of more than 84%. The increase has occurred while XRP remains close to levels not seen since late 2024.
XRP Price Forecast Eyes $5.85 After ABC Correction
Crypto analyst Dark Defender says XRP may be approaching the final stage of an ABC correction. The technical setup places the last part of wave C near $1.02, with another support reference around $0.93.

According to Dark Defender, XRP is in the “last moments of a textbook ABC correction; a parabolic XRP move is expected next.” The projection remains conditional because XRP must hold its support area and break the descending resistance line before higher targets become relevant.
The chart places $1.88 as the first major recovery target, followed by $2.90. The longer-term projection reaches $5.85, although XRP would need to clear each lower resistance level before that target comes into range.
