XRP is trading around the $1 mark after hitting a day low of $0.98 on Monday. The token is down roughly 68% from its high of above $3 reached last year.

Despite the price drop, traders are not walking away. Futures open interest rose to $2.78 billion on Monday, up 2% over 24 hours, according to data from CoinGlass.
Trading volume jumped 55% to around $1.17 billion in the same period. That increase points to more activity, not less, even as the price remains under pressure.
On Binance, more than three accounts held long XRP positions for every one holding a short. The largest traders on the exchange showed a 3.6-to-1 long-to-short split. OKX showed the same 3.6-to-1 ratio.
$XRP WHALES ARE NO LONGER SELLING LIKE BEFORE
Binance #XRP whale inflows have collapsed to just $61M, the lowest level since 2021, down ~86% from $456M in Jan 2025.

A long position is a bet the price will go up. Traders using leverage can take larger positions, but they risk being automatically closed out if the market moves against them.
Sentiment Turns Bearish While Positioning Stays Long
Online commentary about XRP reached its most negative point in three months this week, according to on-chain analytics firm Santiment. Discussions across X, Reddit, and Telegram have turned sour after XRP failed to rally.
😠 XRP negativity surged throughout this week as prices have failed to rally (so far). Crowd commentary is now at a 3-month bearish extreme across X, Reddit, Telegram, and other crypto channels.

This creates an unusual split. Sentiment is down, but traders with money on the line are still betting on a recovery.
The overall long-to-short ratio across all venues sits at about 0.93 over 24 hours, meaning the broader market is close to balanced. The heavy long lean is concentrated on Binance and OKX.
On-Chain Activity Picks Up
About 2.77 billion XRP tokens now sit in open futures positions, up from around 2 billion earlier this summer.
Nearly 50,000 wallet addresses were active on the XRP ledger in a 24-hour window, the highest count in more than two months. Activity had been sliding toward 2026 lows in July.
An active address is one that sent or received tokens during the period. It shows more wallets are using the network, though it does not indicate whether those wallets are buying or selling.
XRP is trading around $1 during Asian morning hours on Monday, with Bitcoin trading above $64,000 at the same time.
