Archer Aviation (ACHR) closed at $6.30 on Friday, up 3.45% on the day, as the company announced a new partnership with AEG to develop a vertiport at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles.
The deal makes Archer the exclusive air-taxi provider for the 4-million-square-foot sports and entertainment complex, which sits next to Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The agreement is structured as a multiyear deal. It adds a downtown Los Angeles anchor to a network that already includes SoFi Stadium, USC, Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Hawthorne Airport, which is planned as the central operating hub.
Expanding our planned LA network: we're partnering with @AEGworldwide to develop a vertiport at @LALIVE in the heart of downtown LA adding one of the city’s biggest sports and entertainment destinations to our planned air taxi network.

The planned L.A. Live vertiport would be the first of its kind announced in downtown Los Angeles. The site was chosen partly because downtown is set to host 18 Olympic and Paralympic sports during the 2028 Games.
Archer is the official air-taxi provider for the LA28 Games and Team USA. That relationship gives the company roughly two years to get its infrastructure and operations in place before a very public test of the technology.
The Midnight aircraft at the center of the plan seats four passengers. Archer says it is designed for short urban trips, flying at up to 150 miles per hour and cutting journeys that can take an hour by car down to around 10 to 20 minutes.
How Far Along Is the Project?
The L.A. Live vertiport is still in the planning stage. Archer and AEG have completed a feasibility study covering land use, airspace, power availability, and community impact.
The partners are now working on the operational setup and passenger experience. The exact location of the vertiport within the complex has not been decided yet.
The site is also expected to use BETA Technologies’ electric aviation chargers through the ACES consortium, which is working to build standardized charging infrastructure across the electric aircraft industry.
What Investors Don’t Know Yet
The announcement does not include details on the cost of building the vertiport, expected passenger volumes, ticket pricing, revenue projections, or a construction completion date.
It also does not confirm whether all required regulatory and permitting approvals have been secured. For now, the deal is more useful as a sign of Archer’s infrastructure progress than as a near-term revenue driver.
ACHR stock has gained about 19% over the past month, compared to a roughly 2% rise in the broader market over the same period.
Analyst consensus on the stock sits at Strong Buy, based on six ratings issued in the past three months. The average price target is $11.60, which implies upside of around 89% from current levels.
