Solana (SOL) is trading around $101 on Monday after touching a high of $110.38 on August 27, its best level since late January. The token has gained roughly 46% in August alone, snapping ten straight months of losses.

Despite the strong monthly performance, SOL remains well below its January 2025 all-time high near $293. It would need to rise another 63.5% from current levels to get back there.
Analyst Seth (@seth_fin) pointed out that SOL ETFs just recorded their strongest inflow ever, asking “Who is buying?” — a nod to growing interest from large players entering the market.

Analyst @cryptoxlarg noted on X that SOL has been grinding lower on shorter timeframes, but the weekly chart is forming a falling wedge pattern. They warned that if bulls reclaim the upper trendline, a short squeeze could follow, adding “Watch SOL closely.”
$SOL BEARS MIGHT BE GETTING TOO COMFORTABLE
SOL has been grinding lower, but the 1W chart is forming a falling wedge
That’s exactly kind of structure that can trap late shorts
If bulls reclaim the upper trendline, the squeeze could be nasty

Institutional Buying Picks Up
U.S. spot Solana ETFs have now collected $1.34 billion in cumulative net inflows since launching in October 2025. Last week alone saw $153.87 million in inflows across nine consecutive days of positive flows.
Bitwise’s BSOL fund, a staking ETF, has crossed $1 billion in assets under management. Goldman Sachs disclosed around $88 million in Solana ETF exposure in its latest regulatory filing.

Charles Schwab announced on August 27 it will add spot SOL to its Schwab Crypto platform. Schwab manages over $12 trillion in client assets across roughly 39 million accounts.
Corporate buyer Defi Development Corp. purchased 19,000 SOL at an average price of $98.14, bringing its total holdings to about 2.33 million SOL.
Supply and Network Updates
Solana completed its first binding onchain governance vote. The “Double Disinflation” proposal passed with 67% support, doubling the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%. This means new SOL will enter circulation more slowly, with estimates putting the reduction at roughly 18.9 million SOL over six years.
Network Activity at Record Levels
Solana processed 4.2 billion transactions in July, up 13.5% from June and about 91% higher than December 2025. The week of August 17–23 set a new weekly record for non-vote transactions at 1.32 billion.
The Transaction V1 upgrade, due September 9, will increase the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes. A planned rent reduction could also cut onchain data storage costs for developers by up to 90%.
Over $16 million in SOL short positions were liquidated during the push toward $109 in August, according to Coinglass data.
SOL is currently holding above key technical support at its 50-day EMA of $85.05 and 200-day EMA of $89.71, with immediate downside support at $98.02.
