The US Department of Commerce has partnered with Chainlink to publish official economic data on public blockchains. The data comes from the Bureau of Economic Analysis and covers three key indicators: real GDP, the PCE Price Index, and Real Final Sales to Private Domestic Purchasers.

Each indicator is available through two feeds. One reports the current level, and the other shows the quarter-over-quarter change at an annualized rate. That gives six feeds in total.
The feeds are live across 10 networks: Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Botanix, Linea, Mantle, Optimism, Sonic, and ZKsync. Chainlink said more networks can be added based on demand.
Updates follow the BEA publication schedule, meaning monthly or quarterly depending on the indicator. Onchain users receive the same data released through official government channels, just in a format smart contracts can read.
Real GDP tracks inflation-adjusted economic output in billions of chained 2017 dollars. The PCE Price Index is the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation measure, closely watched by investors in stocks, bonds, currencies, and digital assets.
Real Final Sales to Private Domestic Purchasers strips out government spending, exports, and inventory changes. It gives a focused look at consumer and private business spending.
How Chainlink’s Oracle Network Works
Smart contracts cannot pull outside data on their own. Chainlink acts as the bridge, delivering government statistics in a format that blockchain applications can use directly in automated products.
Possible uses include inflation-linked assets, prediction markets, perpetual futures, and lending protocols that adjust risk based on new economic data. Chainlink listed these as potential applications, not live products tied to this program.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said: “We are making America’s economic truth immutable and globally accessible like never before, cementing our role as the blockchain capital of the world.”
Chainlink’s feed infrastructure holds ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 1 certifications. The arrangement builds on an August 2025 program where the Commerce Department also used Pyth Network to place BEA data on blockchains including Bitcoin and Solana.

Crypto analyst @TheEliteCrypto noted that LINK’s market cap sits around $8.5B, up from a range of $3B–$6B during the drawdown period. The analyst said $6B is acting as key support and $10B is the level to watch for the next move higher.

Standard Chartered set a $200 price target for LINK by end of 2030, with analyst Geoff Kendrick pointing to expected growth in tokenized assets and DeFi. The bank projected blockchain-held assets could reach $4 trillion by end of 2028.
Chainlink also recently added price feeds for Coinbase tokenized stocks on Base, including NVDAc, AAPLc, METAc, and GOOGLc, supporting lending and borrowing products in DeFi.
