The dashboard pulls information from Allium, a blockchain analytics company. It tracks stablecoin supply, issuance, and transaction activity across different networks.
What The Dashboard Covers
The tool includes stablecoins with more than $100 million in circulation. According to Bloomberg, this group makes up over 98% of the total stablecoin market.
Terminal users can compare stablecoins using several measures. These include supply, mints, burns, transfer volume, and velocity.
The dashboard also breaks down activity by blockchain network. It separates stablecoins by peg type as well, covering those backed by fiat currencies and those backed by commodities.
Matthew Parkinson leads digital assets product at Bloomberg. He said stablecoins are becoming a bigger part of institutional digital asset markets.
He added that firms are looking at how cash and assets can move through tokenized financial systems. Bloomberg’s goal is to give clients the same level of detail they already get in traditional markets.
How It Fits Into The Terminal
The dashboard sits inside the RWAS function on the Terminal. This places it next to Bloomberg’s existing tools for fixed income, foreign exchange, and money markets.
All Terminal subscribers can access the new dashboard. No extra sign-up or fee was mentioned in the announcement.
Ethan Chan co-founded Allium and serves as its CEO. He said institutions want the same certainty in onchain data that they already have with traditional market data.
The Bloomberg Terminal is used widely across banks and asset management firms. It provides real-time market data, news, analytics, and trading tools.
Bloomberg has priced Bitcoin on its platform since 2014. The company now supplies pricing, reference data, identifiers, and benchmarks for 50 different cryptocurrencies.
This stablecoin dashboard expands that coverage into a more detailed, data-heavy format. It gives users a direct view into onchain activity rather than just price data.
Stablecoins work by holding their value close to another asset, like the US dollar. They are used heavily in crypto trading and increasingly in payments.
Market Size And Context
Stablecoin market capitalization has climbed above $306 billion. That figure comes from data tracker DeFiLlama.
Tether’s USDT is the largest stablecoin by far. It accounts for roughly 60% of the entire stablecoin market.
The launch reflects growing interest from large financial institutions in digital asset infrastructure. Bloomberg’s move gives its existing client base a new way to monitor that part of the market directly from a platform they already use daily.
