US stock futures rose Tuesday morning as investors stayed focused on earnings season and the ongoing boom in artificial intelligence spending. The gains came even as bond yields climbed and diesel prices increased.
Futures for the Nasdaq-100 rose 0.1% after the Nasdaq Composite closed at a record high on Monday. That move was helped by gains in Nvidia and other technology companies.
Dow futures rose 0.1%, and S&P 500 futures climbed above the flat line. The S&P 500 sits less than 1% below its own record high.

Treasury Yields Reach Multi-Decade Highs
Bond yields remained a central focus for traders this week. The 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.31%, its highest closing level in 24 years.

The 30-year yield climbed to 5.66%, a level not seen since 2002. Rising yields have made some investors cautious, even as stocks continue to climb.
Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s Lisa Shalett addressed the bond volatility in a note to clients. She pointed to a possible new Federal Reserve policy framework, economic growth, and high oil prices as contributing factors.
She also noted the Middle East conflict as an ongoing source of market uncertainty. Still, she said current volatility has not reached the extremes seen during the 2022 equity bear market.
AI Stocks Lead Monday’s Gains
Technology shares linked to artificial intelligence saw gains during Monday’s regular session. SpaceX jumped more than 7%, while Nvidia and Tesla each rose over 2%.
Meta Platforms and Microsoft also advanced, each gaining more than 1%. The moves came after Taiwan-based Foxconn, a key Nvidia partner, reported strong earnings.
Foxconn’s results signaled continued global demand for AI infrastructure. Nvidia’s market capitalization is now nearing $6 trillion.
During Monday’s session, the Nasdaq Composite gained roughly 1% to close at a record high. The Dow Industrials rose about 90 points, or 0.2%. The S&P 500 added 0.7%.
In Asia on Tuesday, Japan’s Nikkei 225 added 0.29%. South Korea’s Kospi fell 0.23%, while Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.53%.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index gained 0.95%. Mainland China’s market remained closed for the Golden Week holiday.
Oil prices fell on Monday. Brent crude dropped 1.9% to close at $100.32 per barrel.
West Texas Intermediate crude fell about 1.8% to $89.43 per barrel. Oil prices were trading slightly higher on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Constellation Brands and Lamb Weston Holdings are scheduled to report earnings. The broader economic calendar remains quiet for the day.
Traders are also watching for the release of the Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes, due Wednesday. The minutes could offer more detail on the central bank’s recent decisions around interest rates.
