TLDR
- Dogecoin trades just above $0.0800, up about 1% on the day, with lows near $0.0785.
- The 50-day, 100-day and 200-day EMAs all sit overhead, between $0.0854 and $0.0919.
- Perpetual futures open interest is about 15 billion DOGE, down from above 17 billion in August.
- Analyst Trader Tardigrade says DOGE is forming a megaphone pattern, with $0.108 as the upper target.
- DogeOS, a new application layer, would require DOGE for gas fees, but supply grows by up to 5 billion coins a year.
Dogecoin (DOGE) is trading just above $0.0800 on Tuesday, up about 1% on the day. The price touched lows near $0.0785 earlier in the session. The wider crypto market is quiet, with Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP all struggling to build momentum.

DOGE remains below a key descending trendline and a cluster of moving averages. That keeps the short-term bias pointed down, according to FXStreet.
Traders are also watching the Federal Reserve’s October 28 policy decision. The CME FedWatch Tool shows an 83% chance the Fed holds rates steady. It puts a 17% chance on a 25-basis-point hike.
Derivatives and technical levels
Perpetual open interest stood at about 15 billion DOGE on Tuesday, down from 15.7 billion the day before. It has also pulled back from highs above 17 billion DOGE in August. That points to softer leveraged positioning while price holds near $0.0800.

On the daily chart, DOGE trades at $0.0806. The 50-day EMA is at $0.0859 and the 100-day EMA is at $0.0854. The 200-day EMA sits at $0.0919, with the SuperTrend line at $0.0912.
The Relative Strength Index is near 39, and the MACD is below zero. Both suggest sellers still have the upper hand, even with price holding above $0.0800.
Initial resistance is the $0.0854-$0.0859 zone. A daily close above $0.0912-$0.0919 would be needed to ease the bearish structure. Beyond that, the prior trendline break near $0.1033 is the next target.
Chart view
DOGE keeps getting rejected under the EMA stack, and the daily candles show buyers defending $0.0785 but not pushing through. RSI and MACD are curling up, but they haven’t flipped yet. It looks like a coil to me, and bulls still need to prove something.
Watch the $0.0854-$0.0859 zone next. A daily close above it would be the first real sign of trend control returning. A drop below $0.0785 would put the recent lows back in play.
Analyst view: megaphone pattern
Analyst Trader Tardigrade (@TATrader_Alan) said Dogecoin is printing a megaphone pattern on the daily chart. He pointed to higher highs and lower lows, with the range widening over time.

He noted that price just tagged the lower trendline and bounced. The last touch of that line sent price back toward the top of the pattern. If that repeats, he sees the upper trendline near $0.108 as the next stop.
DogeOS and the supply question
Motley Fool writer Anthony Di Pizio also looked at Dogecoin on Oct. 20. DOGE is down almost 90% from its 2021 high of $0.73, when its market cap topped $90 billion. It now trades near $0.08 with a market cap of about $12.71 billion.
The MyDoge wallet team built DogeOS, an application layer that works with the Ethereum virtual machine. Apps on DogeOS would charge gas fees in DOGE instead of Ether. It is still in testing, and could host games, exchanges and lending markets.
Di Pizio noted that only 2,373 businesses worldwide accept DOGE, according to Cryptwerk. He also pointed to supply. Up to 5 billion new coins can be mined each year, on top of roughly 156 billion in circulation, or about 3% dilution annually.
He does not expect $1 in 2027. DOGE’s 52-week range is $0.07 to $0.21, with daily volume near 420.5 million.
