Solana Company said it was part of the seventh batch of companies picked by the Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises, known as OASES. It is the only blockchain infrastructure company the office has onboarded in 2026.
Hong Kong’s government added 18 companies to the program on October 22. That brought the total number of participating enterprises to 142.
The city runs the program to draw global companies that can help its economy grow. Solana Company announced its selection on Thursday, and Cointelegraph reported the news on October 26.
What the Designation Offers
A Solana Company spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the status gives the firm a single point of contact across government agencies and regulators. That channel is meant to make local dealings simpler.
The company will also get administrative support for its expansion in Hong Kong. This includes faster routes for hiring overseas specialists.
In addition, the designation opens doors to local institutional investors and business partners. Solana Company said these ties will help it grow its presence in the city.
About Solana Company
Solana Company runs staking and validator infrastructure for the Solana network. Validators help process transactions and keep the network running.
The firm also operates an advisory business. It helps financial institutions that want to adopt blockchain technology.
Solana Company holds Solana as part of its digital asset treasury strategy. This means the token sits on its balance sheet as a long-term holding.
Pacific Backbone Plans
The company plans to use Hong Kong as a base for growth across the Asia-Pacific region. Its main plan centers on a project called Pacific Backbone.
Pacific Backbone is an effort to build a low-latency blockchain infrastructure network in the region. Low latency means data moves between points with very little delay.
Under this project, Solana Company plans to set up validator operations in Hong Kong. The firm said the work will tie into its staking and infrastructure business on the Solana network.
Solana was trading below its 20-day average of $105.89 and its 50-day average of $109.47, according to a trend report published with the news. It was holding above its 200-day average of $88.45.
Hong Kong’s government confirmed the latest additions to the program last week. Solana Company’s announcement followed on Thursday, and Cointelegraph’s report came out on October 26.
