Bitcoin Market Cap Overtakes Meta
Bitcoin’s market capitalization rose to about $1.5 trillion as the cryptocurrency extended a multi-day rally. The move lifted BTC above Meta Platforms in global asset rankings and placed it around 13th among companies, commodities, ETFs and cryptocurrencies tracked by market-cap comparison platforms.
The ranking has shifted quickly during August. Bitcoin had been listed around 14th on August 12, when its market cap stood near $1.28 trillion. Since then, the rise in BTC price has pushed its valuation back above Meta.
Bitcoin has passed Meta by market cap.
At $1.50T, $BTC ranks No. 13 among global assets, ahead of $META at $1.39T in the latest snapshot, per AInvest app data.

Bitcoin traded above $75,000 after gaining sharply during the week. Its circulating supply of roughly 20 million BTC means changes in spot price can move the asset’s total market value by tens of billions of dollars within a short period.
Meta’s valuation has also moved during August, with recent market-cap estimates placing the technology company near the $1.5 trillion level. That leaves the ranking sensitive to daily price changes in both assets.
Treasury Buybacks and ETF Flows Support Bitcoin Rally
The rally followed the U.S. Treasury’s decision to expand buybacks of longer-dated government debt. The announcement pushed long-term yields lower for a period and supported demand for risk assets, including Bitcoin.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs also recorded renewed inflows during the advance. At the same time, short liquidations added momentum as traders betting against BTC were forced to close positions during the rapid move higher.
Bitcoin’s latest rise follows several weeks of weaker performance. However, the asset has recovered strongly from recent lows as liquidity conditions improved and demand returned across both spot and derivatives markets.
Gold remains far ahead in the global asset rankings, with a market capitalization above $31 trillion. Bitcoin therefore remains well below the world’s largest asset despite moving ahead of several major listed companies.
Bitcoin Ranking Shows How Quickly Market Values Can Shift
Bitcoin’s move above Meta follows a broader rise in crypto valuations. Ethereum also gained during the same market recovery, lifting its market capitalization and position among globally ranked assets.
The comparison between Bitcoin and public companies is based only on market value. Bitcoin market capitalization equals circulating supply multiplied by price, while a company’s valuation reflects its share price multiplied by outstanding shares.
That distinction means the rankings do not measure revenue, earnings or assets under management. They provide a snapshot of market value at a given point in time.
Bitcoin’s return to the 13th position therefore reflects its latest price rally rather than a permanent ranking. Continued volatility in BTC and major equity markets could change the order again.
