BTC Digital (BTCT) stock surged 54% in Monday premarket trading after the company said construction of its cryptocurrency mining facility in Georgia is now complete.
The stock move came alongside a roughly 1% rise in Bitcoin (BTC), which traded near $78,500 Monday morning.
The Georgia project is described as approaching “deployment readiness.” BTC Digital said it expects to deploy mining machines and begin digital asset mining operations within approximately two months, depending on power interconnection progress.
The facility operates at 10 megawatts and is built to support up to 900,000 terahashes per second of theoretical computing capacity at full deployment.
That figure assumes BTC Digital rolls out its planned configuration of high-efficiency mining machines. The actual number of machines deployed and the realized computing power will depend on several factors.
Those factors include energization progress, mining machine models, energy efficiency, network difficulty, digital asset prices, and broader market conditions.
BTC Digital said it will deploy machines “progressively based on market conditions,” rather than all at once.
Dual-Engine Strategy
The company is also pushing forward with what it calls a “dual-engine” development strategy. That means continuing to grow its crypto mining operations while building out AI computing infrastructure services in North America.
Management said both business lines draw on shared capabilities across power procurement, data center development, and equipment deployment.
“We will continue to sustain the development of our cryptocurrency computing business so as to fully leverage the company’s existing advantages in power resources, infrastructure construction, and computing operations,” BTC Digital’s management said.
The Georgia facility forms part of BTC Digital’s wider effort to expand its computing infrastructure footprint in the United States.
Georgia Project Marks US Expansion
Once operational, the site will increase BTC Digital’s self-controlled infrastructure resources inside the country.
The company operates across cryptocurrency mining, mining farm construction, data center operation, and related activities.
BTC Digital is also developing AI computing infrastructure and services across North America, which the company sees as a separate growth avenue running alongside the core mining business.
Management framed the Georgia completion as a key step in building what it described as a “more diversified and resilient business foundation for long-term growth.”
BTCT stock was trading up 54% premarket on Monday, August 24, 2026.
