The card is live first in Colombia and will roll out to more markets in the coming months. Customers can sign up through the MoneyGram app and add the digital card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The card initially uses Circle’s USDC stablecoin. MoneyGram’s own dollar-backed token, MGUSD, is set to be added later.
MoneyGram launched MGUSD on the Stellar network in June. It is issued by Bridge, a stablecoin infrastructure company owned by Stripe.
How the Card Works
Customers can use the card to pay online, tap to pay in stores, or transfer funds to themselves for cash pickup in local currency at MoneyGram locations worldwide.
MoneyGram plans to release a physical card later in 2026 that will also support ATM withdrawals.
The card was built with stablecoin payments firm Rain, wallet provider Crossmint and the Stellar network.
The Network Behind the Card
MoneyGram serves over 60 million active customers across more than 200 countries and territories. It has nearly 500,000 retail locations globally.
That physical network gives the company a way to bridge digital stablecoin balances with local cash access.
Stablecoin card spending volume crossed $1.1 billion in August, according to data from PaymentScan.
MoneyGram is also listed as a partner in Open USD, the Stripe-led stablecoin initiative that shares revenue with a group of backers.
The company has been building stablecoin rails into its traditional remittance network over the past year.
CEO Anthony Soohoo said the card gives customers more freedom and control to manage their money in one place.
The MoneyGram Card builds on 85 years of the company moving money around the world.
The launch puts MoneyGram among a growing group of companies connecting stablecoin balances to everyday payment networks.
