- ADA recently climbed above $0.19 before easing near $0.1838, while 24-hour trading volume surged 212% to $528.26 million.
- T. Rowe Price has added Cardano to its Active Crypto ETF, expanding the fund beyond its original asset mix. The move gives ADA a place beside Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and other large cryptocurrencies in the portfolio.
The Active Crypto ETF, trading under TKNZ on NYSE Arca, launched in mid-July. The fund began trading after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission approved it in June. Cardano did not appear in the first portfolio, despite earlier filings listing ADA as an eligible asset.
The change also follows a period of broader institutional interest in diversified crypto products. Active funds can adjust holdings over time, allowing managers to add or reduce assets as market conditions and internal eligibility reviews change later.
Cardano Joins TKNZ After Launch
TKNZ originally held Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, Solana, XRP, Hyperliquid, Stellar, Dogecoin, USD Coin, and cash equivalents. T. Rowe Price later added Cardano, bringing another large-cap cryptocurrency into the actively managed portfolio.
The fund does not accept every digital asset. TKNZ uses rules tied to regulatory status, liquidity, custody, pricing, and trading access. Its prospectus also bars assets that U.S. federal law classifies as securities. ADA’s addition shows that the manager views Cardano as suitable under these rules.
ADA Receives 0.44% Portfolio Weight
Cardano currently makes up 0.44% of the fund and ranks as TKNZ’s tenth-largest holding. Based on reported net assets of $16.47 million, the position equals about $72,500 in ADA.
The allocation remains small compared with the fund’s larger crypto holdings. However, TKNZ now gives traditional investors another regulated route to Cardano exposure for investors without buying the token directly or managing a private crypto wallet.
Cardano Expands Across U.S. Crypto Funds
Cardano already appears in other U.S.-based crypto investment products. These include the Bitwise 10 Crypto Index Fund, Grayscale Smart Contract Fund, and Hashdex Nasdaq CME Crypto Index ETF. TKNZ now adds another regulated product that holds ADA.
ADA also gained in the spot market. The token rose more than 10% on Wednesday and briefly moved above $0.19. It later eased to about $0.1838 but remained up 4.9% over 24 hours. Trading volume climbed 212% to $528.26 million, showing stronger market activity during the move.
