Telos (TLS) stock slipped 0.74% after the company announced a new federal contract win. The Ashburn, Virginia based cybersecurity firm landed a $13.7 million deal with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The contract runs for 18 months. It covers modernization of cyber governance, risk and compliance processes across the HHS enterprise.
Telos will roll out its Xacta suite for two HHS divisions. Those are the Office of the Chief Information Officer and the Office of Information Security.
The deal includes three platforms. These are Xacta 360, Xacta.io and Xacta.ai.
Beyond software, the contract also covers cybersecurity services. It includes enterprise integration, training and data migration support.
What the Xacta Suite Does
Xacta 360 handles security authorization workflows. It also manages control assessments, compliance documentation and continuous monitoring.
Xacta.io pulls in data from various security tools. This gives HHS visibility into its overall cyber risk and security posture.
Xacta.ai brings artificial intelligence into the mix. The platform is designed to cut down manual work and speed up compliance tasks.
John B. Wood, chairman and CEO of Telos, commented on the deal. He said deploying the full Xacta suite across HHS shows what the platform can do for large, complex federal organizations.
Security Authorization and Company Background
The Xacta platform carries FedRAMP Class D (High) authorization. That is the highest security baseline under the federal program.
This clearance lets agencies use the software-as-a-service tools in environments that handle sensitive unclassified information. It’s a key requirement for government contracts of this scale.
Telos positions itself as a provider of cyber, cloud and enterprise security solutions. Its client base spans the federal government, regulated industries and global enterprises.
The HHS award adds to Telos’s roster of government contracts. The company has built its business around serving agencies that need high level security clearances for their software tools.
No timeline was given for when the Xacta rollout will begin at HHS. The 18-month task order period started upon contract award.
