South Korean crypto exchange Upbit will add BTC and USDT trading pairs for BICO, BMT, NIL and GWEI on August 21, expanding access to four digital assets.
Upbit Delays BICO, BMT, NIL and GWEI Trading to 7 PM KST
Upbit initially scheduled trading for Biconomy (BICO), Bubblemaps (BMT), Nillion (NIL) and ETHGas (GWEI) to begin at 1:00 p.m. Korea Standard Time. The exchange later moved the opening to 4:00 p.m. before issuing another update that delayed trading until 7:00 p.m. KST on August 21.
All four assets will receive BTC and USDT trading pairs. Upbit said deposits and withdrawals would open within two hours of the original announcement, although users must use the supported blockchain network for each asset.
BICO, NIL and GWEI will use the Ethereum network, while BMT deposits and withdrawals will operate through Solana. Upbit warned that transfers made through unsupported networks may not be credited and could require a lengthy return process.
Upbit Sets Trading Restrictions for New Listings
Upbit will apply temporary trading controls after the four markets open. Buy orders will remain restricted for about five minutes after trading begins. During the same period, sell orders priced more than 10% below the previous closing price will also face restrictions.
For roughly two hours after launch, users will only be able to place limit orders. Other order types and trading conditions will remain unavailable during that period as Upbit establishes trading conditions for the new markets.
The exchange said another delay could occur if the markets fail to secure enough liquidity before the scheduled opening. Upbit has already adjusted the launch time twice on August 21.
Four Crypto Projects Join Upbit BTC and USDT Markets
Biconomy provides Web3 infrastructure designed to simplify transactions across blockchain networks. Its BICO token supports governance and staking within the project.
Bubblemaps operates an on-chain analytics platform that displays token ownership and wallet connections visually. BMT is used within its platform and incentive system.
Nillion develops privacy-focused infrastructure for storing and processing data without exposing the underlying information. NIL supports network staking, rewards and payments for Nillion services.
ETHGas focuses on Ethereum blockspace markets and pre-confirmation infrastructure. Its GWEI token supports staking and governance functions within the ecosystem.
Upbit has not announced KRW trading pairs for the four assets. The August 21 addition is limited to BTC and USDT markets, with trading currently scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. KST.
