Subscription revenue, Veeva’s most closely watched metric, grew 16% year-over-year to $766.8 million. Non-GAAP operating margins held above 44%, showing that growth is not coming at the expense of profitability.
CEO Peter Gassner said “Vault CRM had its best quarter ever and Veeva Falcon accelerated rapidly,” adding that AI is “opening up the next big chapter for Veeva and life sciences.”
Two additional top-20 biopharma customers, Eli Lilly and Biogen, committed to Vault CRM during the quarter. That brings the total to 12 of the industry’s top 20 firms on the platform.
Nearly 20 analyst firms raised price targets on the stock following the results.
Analyst Reactions
Barclays analyst Saket Kalia raised his price target to $315 from $275, keeping an Overweight rating. He pointed to the acceleration in subscription revenue as an excellent sign of growth.
Piper Sandler initiated coverage at Overweight with a $295 target. Guggenheim raised its target to $310 from $276, keeping a Buy rating, and called Veeva “indispensable for its customers.”
Morgan Stanley analyst Craig Hettenbach raised his target to $275 from $215. He flagged the company’s annual investor day on November 5 as the next key catalyst, calling it “a referendum on the company’s AI strategy.”
Even the skeptics took a step toward the bull camp. Canaccord raised its target to $260 from $220 but kept a Hold rating, calling the quarter one of the “cleanest” in some time.
Broader Market Context
The move did not happen in a vacuum. Salesforce jumped more than 20% the same day, after topping Q2 expectations and expanding its partnership with Anthropic. ServiceNow and Datadog also posted sharp gains.
Nvidia earnings earlier in the week appeared to reignite appetite for tech and software stocks more broadly. The Nasdaq gained 1.1% and the S&P 500 added 0.5% on Thursday.
Veeva was the second-best performer in the S&P 500 on the day, behind Salesforce.
The stock was in pre-market trading at $264, well above its session open of $239.87, before extending gains as the session progressed.
Veeva’s next major event is the annual investor day on November 5, where management is expected to lay out its AI strategy in detail.
