XRP Price Holds Near Key $1 Level
Futures open interest reached about $2.78 billion on Monday, according to CoinGlass. The figure rose 2% over 24 hours, while trading volume climbed 55% to around $1.17 billion.
Binance data showed more than three long accounts for every short account. Among its largest traders, the ratio stood near 3.6 to one. OKX recorded a similar split, showing a clear long bias on both exchanges.
The XRP price traded around $1 during Asian hours on Monday. The token remains far below levels above $3 seen during last year’s rally.
About 2.77 billion XRP now sits in futures positions. That total has risen from roughly 2 billion earlier this summer. It is also nearing levels recorded when XRP traded at much higher prices.
Social Sentiment Turns More Bearish
Santiment reported that XRP commentary across X, Reddit, Telegram, and other platforms reached its most negative level in three months. The shift followed repeated failures by the token to build a lasting recovery.
Ledger activity moved higher at the same time. Nearly 50,000 addresses were active during one 24-hour period, the highest level in more than two months. Activity had fallen near its 2026 lows in July.
Market-wide positioning remains more balanced than exchange data may suggest. CoinGlass placed the overall long-to-short ratio near 0.93 over 24 hours. The stronger long bias sits mainly on Binance, OKX, and among larger accounts.
A break below $1 could place leveraged long positions under pressure. Exchanges may close positions when traders no longer have enough collateral. Those forced closures can add selling pressure if the XRP price moves lower.
That gap raises liquidation risk further. Bitcoin traded above $64,000 during the same Asian session. XRP traders now face a key test as futures exposure rises and the token stays close to $1 support.
