NVIDIA (NVDA) stock climbed 1.27% on Tuesday as the chipmaker pushes deeper into robotics and life sciences AI. The move comes alongside a string of announcements that show the company is not slowing down its expansion plans.
NVIDIA is working on two fronts at once. One side focuses on industrial robotics safety. The other targets agentic life sciences tools.
On June 23, NVIDIA introduced the BioNeMo Agent Toolkit. This platform gives AI agents specialized tools for protein structure prediction, molecular docking, generative chemistry, genomic analysis, and biomarker discovery.
The toolkit builds on more than a decade of NVIDIA’s life sciences libraries. It runs on NIM microservices, Parabricks, NeMo, and Nemotron technologies.
More than 50 companies are already using the toolkit. That list includes Anthropic, OpenAI, Lilly, and Natera.
NVIDIA says the toolkit can shrink virtual screening timelines from days down to minutes. Working with the University of Washington’s Institute for Protein Design, it has already delivered 2x faster performance for protein design models like RosettaFold3.
A New Safety Standard for Robots
A day before the BioNeMo announcement, NVIDIA unveiled Halos for Robotics. The company describes it as the industry’s first full-stack safety system for robotics and physical AI.
The system draws on more than 18,600 years of combined engineering experience in autonomous vehicle safety. It spans AI compute, safety software, sensor data, and an ANAB-accredited inspection lab for certification work.
Agility is the first company to adopt Halos for Robotics into its safety setup. Its humanoid robot, Digit, already operates inside facilities run by Amazon, GXO, Schaeffler, and Motor Manufacturing Canada.
On June 30, NVIDIA announced it is expanding its robotics team. The hiring push covers four areas: embodied intelligence, simulation, deployment, and solution architecture.
The embodied intelligence group will focus on agile operations and human modeling. The simulation team will build core infrastructure for training robots in virtual environments before they ever touch a factory floor.
Deployment specialists will work on optimizing algorithms specifically for humanoid robots. A separate solutions team will handle integrating NVIDIA’s technology into manufacturing and service industries.
Wall Street’s Take on the Robotics Push
Bernstein weighed in on June 29, reiterating its “Outperform” rating on NVIDIA. The firm called the chipmaker a key player in the humanoid robotics space.
Bernstein pointed to both NVIDIA and Qualcomm as leaders in building the processors that act as the brain of a robot. These chips handle sensor data, reasoning, planning, and quick execution of actions.
The firm argues that compute and software providers have a clear path to building competitive moats. NVIDIA and Qualcomm sit at the center of that race.
Separately, GuruFocus data shows NVIDIA’s GF Value sits at $349.20, compared to a recent price of $194.97. That gap points to a 44.2% undervaluation by the firm’s model.
NVIDIA’s GF Score comes in at 95 out of 100. Profitability and growth both rank 10 out of 10, though valuation ranks lower at 4 out of 10.
Insider selling has also picked up. Over the past three months, NVIDIA insiders sold $410.6 million worth of stock with zero purchases recorded over the same stretch.
