Gemini has expanded XRP services in Singapore, giving local users direct access to deposits and withdrawals over the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss announced the update on August 25 as the exchange continues to add more XRP-related services across Asia.
The move adds another XRP feature to Gemini’s Singapore platform, where users can already fund accounts in Singapore dollars. The exchange also lets customers trade and store more than 70 cryptocurrencies.
Gemini Expands XRP Access in Singapore
The new service allows customers to move XRP directly through the XRP Ledger. Users can now send or receive the token through its native network without relying on another blockchain. The change also gives Singapore users direct control over transfers between Gemini accounts and external XRPL wallets.
Gemini has widened its XRP support during the past year. In July, the exchange allowed traders to use XRP to back derivatives positions alongside Bitcoin, Ether, USDT and Gemini dollar.
Gemini and Ripple also launched an XRP version of the Gemini Credit Card. The card lets eligible users earn XRP rewards, including up to 4% back on selected spending categories.
Gemini said users who held XRP rewards for at least one year recorded a 453% increase. The exchange later promoted XRP perpetual contracts in Europe and added XRPL deposits and withdrawals for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin in December 2025.
Winklevoss Shifts Tone on XRP
Winklevoss has become more active in promoting XRP despite past disputes with its online community. In 2020, he criticized some XRP supporters during public exchanges on social media.
His comments softened in later years. In March 2025, he said he had no issue with XRP, Solana or Cardano, although he argued that those assets did not meet his standard for a strategic crypto reserve.
The exchange update comes as XRP trades near $1.50 after a sharp weekly rise. The token gained more than 50% over the past week, reaching about $1.47 to $1.52.
