TLDR
- Chainlink Data Feeds now provide continuous pricing for four Coinbase Tokenized Stocks on Base: NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc
- These tokenized stocks can now be used as collateral in DeFi lending protocols on Base
- Each token is issued as a B20 standard token by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., regulated in Abu Dhabi
- Lending protocols Aave, Morpho, and Euler are among those preparing to support B20 assets
- U.S. investors are currently excluded from the offering under Regulation S exemption rules

The four supported assets represent shares in Nvidia, Meta, Apple, and Alphabet. They trade on Base under the tickers NVDAc, METAc, AAPLc, and GOOGLc, using the B20 token standard built for tokenized real-world assets.
Coinbase launched the four tokens on Base on August 24. The issuer is Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., a company registered in the Abu Dhabi Global Market. Each token is backed one-to-one by a real share held in a segregated custody account through Alpaca Securities.
Tokenholders hold a beneficial interest in the custodied shares. They are not the registered owner of the underlying stock. Verified holders can submit voting instructions, though the issuer’s ability to act on them depends on legal and operational conditions.
How Chainlink’s Price Feeds Work
Chainlink Data Feeds report the total return value of each B20 token. The calculation uses the underlying stock’s market price combined with a multiplier from Coinbase’s onchain oracle registry.
The multiplier accounts for corporate events like dividends. Coinbase generally reinvests dividends into additional shares after fees and taxes, which changes the deposit ratio over time. Chainlink’s feeds adjust for this so protocols get an accurate picture of each token’s value.
Protocols read the data through Chainlink’s standard V3 aggregator interface. Developers are advised to verify contract addresses rather than rely on ticker symbols alone, since those can be copied by other token issuers.
DeFi Protocols Now Supporting B20 Assets
With reliable price data available, lending protocols can now determine borrowing limits, track loan health, and trigger liquidations when collateral values fall. Each protocol sets its own risk rules and decides which markets to activate.
Aave, Morpho, and Euler are among the protocols preparing or offering lending functions for B20 assets. Aerodrome supports liquidity for tokenized stocks, while 0x, 1inch, KyberSwap, and CoW Swap handle trading.
This means a holder could deposit a tokenized stock into a supported lending protocol and borrow another asset against it, rather than selling their position to access funds.
Chainlink’s feeds run 24 hours Monday through Friday, pulling from regular session, extended hours, and overnight market data. Coverage and data quality vary across sessions. Overnight markets use fewer providers and update less frequently. On weekends, when U.S. equity markets are closed, reported values may stay unchanged.
Despite the Base network running around the clock, these equity-market limitations introduce risks for lending applications that rely on accurate pricing for liquidation decisions.
U.S. investors are not permitted to access Coinbase Tokenized Stocks. The tokens are sold under Regulation S, which covers securities transactions conducted outside the United States. Coinbase received Abu Dhabi regulatory approval in August to arrange investment deals and provide custody for tokenized securities, but this does not extend to U.S. distribution.
Unvested holders who acquire tokens through DeFi without completing Coinbase’s compliance checks cannot redeem tokens, receive holder rights, or submit voting instructions until they pass the required verification process.
