CrowdStrike (CRWD) closed Tuesday at $244.68, up 1.19%. In pre-market trading on Wednesday, the stock was at $249.53, up almost 2%.
CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc., CRWD
The company gave investors two things to chew on. It launched an AI “kill switch” and agreed to buy two startups.
The kill switch lives inside Falcon Guardian. It gives security teams a way to shut down an AI agent that goes off script.

A defender can end the agent wherever it runs. They can also block it from starting again and cut its access to the company network.
“AI safety is how you get the full benefit of AI,” said CEO George Kurtz in a press release. “When you deploy agents with a kill switch, you stay in control.”
Two Startups, One $495 Million Price Tag
CrowdStrike agreed to buy Fiddler AI and Dreadnode for a combined $495 million, according to The Wall Street Journal. Fiddler is the bigger piece at about $400 million, while Dreadnode costs about $95 million.
Most of the money will be paid in cash. A smaller part will come in CrowdStrike stock.
Both deals are expected to close in CrowdStrike’s fiscal fourth quarter. That quarter ends in January 2027.
Dreadnode builds tools that test AI systems before they go to work. Its software runs more than 100 known attack methods, including tricks that push a model to ignore its instructions.
Fiddler looks at the other end of the timeline. It tracks what AI agents do after launch and helps explain why an agent made a certain choice.
Why Agents Create a New Problem
AI agents are not like chatbots that just answer questions. They can work directly inside company systems.
That opens a door to trouble. A mistake or a bad instruction could lead an agent to reach sensitive data or do a task it was never meant to do.
Fiddler’s tools will join the Falcon platform as Falcon Observe. They will work next to the new kill switch.
For now, the kill switch runs through CrowdStrike’s AI Gateway. The company plans to stop agents directly on company devices later.
Earlier this year, some worried AI would upend traditional business models. Cybersecurity firms have instead seen more demand tied to agentic AI, which calls for verification and authentication.
Wall Street rates the stock a Strong Buy, based on 34 Buys, six Holds and zero Sells over the past three months. The average price target is $267.24, which points to 10.5% upside.
