Shiba Inu’s transition to decentralization includes elections for interim president.
The Shiba Inu community is expressing strong opposition to Shytoshi Kusama’s leadership as the project prepares for upcoming elections. Concerns have surfaced regarding Kusama’s competency, communication, and accountability, leading to calls for a new leader. The community’s dissatisfaction has grown as members point to several key issues, including unfulfilled promises and the involvement in projects that some believe distract from Shiba Inu’s core goals.
The community’s frustration comes as Shiba Inu is set to elect an interim president and establish a DAO council. With these elections just around the corner, the atmosphere has become charged with discussions about who would best represent the ecosystem moving forward. The elections are seen as a crucial moment for the community to reclaim control over the project’s direction.
WoofSwap Critiques Shytoshi Kusama Leadership and Strategy
WoofSwap, a significant part of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, has been vocal about its dissatisfaction with Shytoshi Kusama. The project as a result has raised concerns about Kusama’s strategy, communication, and decision-making skills.
In a series of posts on social media, WoofSwap highlighted the lack of transparency and ineffective leadership, calling for a president who can provide clearer direction for Shiba Inu.
I hope this election brings us some truly capable people!
People who can keenly sense market trends and respond with sharp strategies.
People bold enough to address every comment from the community.

“We don’t need an incompetent president,” WoofSwap emphasized in a recent post, adding that leadership should be focused on the long-term benefit of the community rather than short-term gains. This sentiment is shared by many in the Shiba Inu community who believe that Kusama’s leadership has not been in alignment with the broader vision for the ecosystem.
Election Process and Community Involvement
As the elections approach, Shiba Inu’s community will play a central role in selecting its next leader. According to Shytoshi Kusama, the election process will follow a transparent system where all eligible community members can vote.
Those running for the interim president position will submit detailed profiles, and after a review process, the top ten candidates will be selected for a live debate.
Votes will be token-based, with holders of SHIB, BONE, TREAT, or LEASH able to cast their votes. Each token will carry one vote, giving the community direct power over the election’s outcome. Kusama has however emphasized that this process is designed to ensure fairness and alignment with the long-term vision of the project.
Shiba Inu Path to Decentralization
The upcoming elections as a result are an important step in Shiba Inu’s broader goal of decentralization. Kusama outlined the intention to transition the project into a more decentralized structure with the election of an interim president and the formation of DAO councils.
These councils will be responsible for overseeing technical and administrative changes within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
By electing a president and establishing a decentralized governance model, Shiba Inu aims to empower its community and ensure more transparency in decision-making. In addition, the elections are viewed as a way to move closer to achieving true decentralization and giving the community more control over the future of the project. This shift as a result is part of a larger effort to align the project’s governance with the ideals set forth in the Shiba Inu White Paper.
Controversy Surrounding Kusama’s Side Projects
Another point of contention is Shytoshi Kusama’s involvement in various side projects. Some community members have raised concerns about Kusama’s focus on ventures like SHY and Kaal Dhairya’s POE token. Critics argue that these side projects are distracting and may not be benefiting the Shiba Inu ecosystem as intended.
Kusama’s endorsement of POE has particularly drawn criticism, with some members accusing him of favoritism and questioning whether such projects align with Shiba Inu’s core objectives.
This situation as a result has only fueled further dissatisfaction with his leadership, leading to calls for a leader who can focus entirely on the Shiba Inu ecosystem and its long-term success.
