The Phase 2 trial enrolled approximately 80 postmenopausal women in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design. It carries the trial identifier NCT07118891.
The data release is the first Phase 2 readout from AbCellera’s GPCR and ion channel platform, making it a closely watched milestone for the company.
Q2 Numbers Tell a Different Story
Q2 financials were weak. Revenue came in at $4.05 million, down 76.3% from $17.08 million in Q2 2025. The net loss widened 59.7% to $55.4 million.
Basic EPS was a loss of $0.18 per share, compared to a loss of $0.12 per share a year ago. Research and development spending reached approximately $46 million in the quarter.
The pipeline did advance. AbCellera now has nine products in Phase 1 and one in Phase 2, compared to 11 in Phase 1 and none in Phase 2 a year ago.
ABCL575 completed Phase 1 dosing, with a readout expected in Q4 2026.
Cash Position Cushions the Burn
Despite the losses, the balance sheet remains a key argument for bulls. The company ended the quarter with $567 million in cash and more than $675 million in total available liquidity.
Partnerships with Jazz Pharmaceuticals and Vertex, focused on T cell engager programs, contributed more than $110 million in upfront cash payments.
Critics note that these are one-time deal payments rather than recurring revenue. Milestones and royalties have not yet scaled to offset ongoing losses.
The most recent analyst rating on ABCL is a Buy, with a $12.00 price target. The stock’s current market cap sits at approximately $1.74 billion.
All eyes now turn to the August 10 data release for ABCL635.
