Goldman Sachs has returned as the largest reported institutional holder of U.S. spot XRP ETF positions, according to its Q2 2026 13F filing. The bank disclosed $87.45 million in XRP ETF exposure, equal to about 84.05 million XRP. The position places Goldman Sachs well ahead of other institutions reporting exposure to the same market. The filing covers holdings reported at quarter-end.
Goldman Sachs Rebuilds XRP ETF Position
Goldman Sachs rebuilt its XRP ETF position during the second quarter after leaving the market earlier. The move follows a sharp change from Q1 2026, when the bank had fully exited positions across products from Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, and 21Shares.
The latest filing shows that Goldman Sachs has again built a major position in spot XRP ETFs. Its reported exposure now exceeds Jane Street Group’s $16.64 million position by more than five times, creating a wide gap between the two largest institutional holders.
Jane Street reported exposure equal to about 16 million XRP after increasing its position by roughly $13.57 million during the quarter. Millennium Management followed with about $16.2 million in XRP ETF holdings, based on Bloomberg Intelligence data compiled from Q2 filings.
Intesa Sanpaolo reported about $14.42 million in exposure, while Marex UK Holdings held about $8.12 million. The filings show that several large financial firms now hold positions tied to spot XRP ETFs, although Goldman Sachs remains the largest reported holder.
U.S. spot XRP ETFs have recorded $1.67 billion in cumulative inflows, according to SoSoValue. Their combined net assets stand near $1.45 billion, showing continued demand across the five listed products.
The Bitwise XRP ETF leads with $507.23 million in net assets and $603.56 million in cumulative flows. Franklin’s XRPZ follows with about $370 million in net assets and roughly $462 million in cumulative flows. Canary, 21Shares, and Grayscale hold the remaining share.
Ripple Unlocks 1 Billion XRP
Ripple also released 1 billion XRP from escrow on September 1 through three transactions of 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million XRP. The release forms part of Ripple’s monthly escrow process.
About 31.28 billion XRP would remain in Ripple’s existing escrow after the release. XRP traded near $1.39, up about 1.7% in 24 hours. The token gained 30.8% over 30 days, while short liquidations exceeded long liquidations.
