- LG Electronics stock jumped over 6% in Seoul trading after Nvidia qualified its 2.6-megawatt coolant distribution unit for the DSX AI Factory platform
- The unit has been listed on the Nvidia DSX AI Factory Marketplace and meets DSX reference-design requirements
- This is LG’s third Nvidia-qualified CDU, following earlier certifications for 600kW and 1MW units
- The 2.6MW CDU is classified as a “Large-Scale” solution and is designed to cool multiple high-density AI server racks
- LG launched a new air-cooled centrifugal chiller for AI data centers the day before this announcement
LG Electronics stock climbed 6.2% to 215,000 won in Seoul trading on Tuesday, outperforming the broader KOSPI index, which rose 1.2%.

The move came after LG announced that Nvidia had qualified its 2.6-megawatt coolant distribution unit for the Nvidia DSX AI Factory platform. The unit has been listed on the Nvidia DSX AI Factory Marketplace.
This is LG’s largest CDU to receive Nvidia qualification to date. The company had previously earned certifications for 600kW and 1MW units. Nvidia categorizes the new 2.6MW system as a “Large-Scale” solution.
The 2.6MW CDU is built to handle the heat produced by large AI server clusters. It works by circulating coolant through cold plates attached directly to CPUs and GPUs, then moving that heat out to the broader data center cooling infrastructure.
Chip-to-Chiller Strategy
LG has been building out what it calls a “Chip-to-Chiller” portfolio, covering the entire cooling chain from AI chips to facility-level heat rejection. That lineup includes chillers, computer room air handlers, and liquid-cooling systems.
The company said rack power density in AI data centers is now reaching hundreds of kilowatts. That kind of load pushes beyond what traditional rack-level cooling can handle, which is where megawatt-class centralized systems come in.
LG secured its 600kW CDU certification from Nvidia back in July. At the time, Nvidia said the product passed more than 100 technical evaluation criteria, covering cooling performance, reliability, and failover capabilities.
The 2.6MW unit went through additional requirements to earn the “DSX Ready” designation. That puts it at the top of LG’s currently certified cooling lineup by capacity.
Expanding the Portfolio
The timing of this announcement was no accident. LG launched a new air-cooled centrifugal chiller for AI data centers on Monday, one day before the Nvidia qualification news dropped.
LG said the latest certification reinforces its position as a “first mover in the next-generation liquid cooling market.” The company said it plans to continue supplying solutions for expanding AI infrastructure.
Nvidia’s DSX AI Factory platform is designed to set reference standards for AI data center infrastructure. Getting listed on the DSX Marketplace gives LG visibility with data center operators building out Nvidia-based AI systems.
The qualification adds to LG’s growing footprint in AI infrastructure at a time when demand for high-capacity cooling is rising alongside increasingly power-hungry AI accelerators.
By early afternoon trading in Seoul, LG stock was up as much as 7.2%, according to Dow Jones data.
