Japan-based investment firm Metaplanet has strengthened its position in the digital asset space by acquiring an additional 330 BTC. The company confirmed the purchase on April 21, 2025, with the latest acquisition valued at approximately 4.02 billion yen, or $27.8 million. The transaction was executed at an average price of 12,181,570 yen, equivalent to around $85,605 per BTC.
Following the purchase, Metaplanet’s total Bitcoin holdings have reached 4,855 BTC. The company has been consistently building its Bitcoin treasury since adopting the strategy in April 2024. Despite ongoing global market fluctuations and policy shifts such as the U.S. tariff measures, Metaplanet has continued to accumulate BTC in line with its long-term treasury objectives.
Average Cost and Valuation of Holdings Revealed
According to the firm’s disclosure, the overall average purchase price for its Bitcoin portfolio is 12,804,361 yen per BTC, about $88,000. Metaplanet’s total BTC holdings are valued at approximately 62.165 billion yen, translating to around $433 million.

Between January and March 2025, the company recorded a BTC Yield of 95.6%. In the current quarter, covering April 1 to April 21, the firm achieved a BTC Yield of 12.1%.
