Robinhood (HOOD) stock rose in Monday pre-market trading as the company expanded cryptocurrency services in the United Kingdom. HOOD traded at $94.47, gaining 1.26% after closing Friday 2.84% higher at $93.29. The move followed Robinhood’s launch of crypto trading for eligible UK customers through Bitstamp.
Robinhood Adds Bitcoin and Ethereum Trading in UK
Robinhood now gives eligible UK users access to more than 50 cryptocurrencies inside its main investing app. The service includes Bitcoin and Ethereum alongside equities, options, futures, and stocks and shares ISAs. Bitstamp UK Ltd handles the cryptocurrency transactions under its existing UK registration.
Robinhood charges no trading, custody, or account maintenance fees for the new service. However, customers pay a 0.1% foreign exchange fee when converting currencies. Certain weekend currency conversions carry a higher 0.3% foreign exchange fee.
The launch follows Robinhood UK’s addition to the FCA cryptoasset register on July 31. That registration allows the company to provide covered crypto services under current anti-money laundering rules. Robinhood must still seek authorization under the UK’s incoming crypto framework.
XRP and HYPE Expand Robinhood’s UK Crypto List
The service also includes XRP and HYPE among the available digital assets. Robinhood uses Bitstamp infrastructure after completing its $200 million acquisition of the exchange last year. The deal gave Robinhood an established platform for wider international crypto expansion.
Robinhood also introduced Cortex Digests for Crypto alongside the UK rollout. The feature combines market data, technical indicators, news, and internal information to explain crypto price moves. Robinhood designed the service to provide users with added market context.
The company has also expanded blockchain operations through Robinhood Chain using Arbitrum technology. Robinhood reported more than $18 billion in decentralized exchange volume since the network launched July 1. It also reported more than $840 million in total value locked.
HOOD Stock Gains as Robinhood Expands Products
Robinhood’s UK rollout follows weaker cryptocurrency revenue during its second quarter. Crypto transaction revenue fell 38% year over year to $100 million during the period. Meanwhile, prediction markets generated $156 million and exceeded crypto transaction revenue for the first time.
Total net revenue rose 32% year over year to $1.31 billion during the quarter. Net income increased 48% to $573 million compared with the second quarter of 2025. Robinhood also expanded Stock Tokens and completed its acquisition of Canadian crypto platform WonderFi.
Robinhood also filed plans for its second publicly listed venture fund before the UK launch. Robinhood Ventures Fund II plans to raise up to $200 million and begin trading on August 13. The broader expansion supports Robinhood’s push to offer more financial products across key international markets.
