The meeting will take place at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, next to the White House. CFTC Chairman Mike Selig is also expected to be present, along with other senior advisers.
CEOs from Coinbase, Ripple, Gemini, Robinhood, Polymarket, and Kalshi are all members of the newly formed Innovation Advisory Committee at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. They will attend the White House gathering before heading to the CFTC’s first committee meeting on Thursday.
Who Else Is in the Room
The group is not limited to crypto companies. Leaders from Nasdaq, CME Group, Intercontinental Exchange, and the DTCC are also committee members and are expected to be part of the broader gathering.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick may also attend, though that has not been confirmed. The White House did not respond to requests for comment.
The Thursday CFTC session will open with a panel titled “Crypto’s Regulatory Evolution: From Uncertainty to Clarity.” One of the listed discussion topics covers “the remaining challenges to a durable federal market structure.”
Trump has been a vocal supporter of both the cryptocurrency and prediction market industries since returning to office.
Senate Bill Looms Over the Meeting
The White House meeting arrives at a key moment for crypto regulation. The Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, widely known as the Clarity Act, is sitting in the Senate and is expected to come up for a vote when lawmakers return from recess next month.
Progress on the bill has been complicated. There is ongoing debate over ethics rules that would restrict Trump’s personal involvement in the crypto space.
Whether Trump is willing to accept those restrictions may affect how the bill moves forward.
The prediction markets industry, which has grown quickly in the past two years, is also part of the conversation. Companies like Polymarket and Kalshi have become a focus of Washington regulators.
This week’s meetings, both at the White House and the CFTC, signal that the administration wants to keep crypto and prediction markets near the top of its policy agenda.
The details of the Wednesday gathering are still being finalized, and it remains unclear exactly who will attend.
