USA Rare Earth (USAR) stock climbed 6.3% in pre-market trading on August 7, hitting $18.51, as investors positioned ahead of the company’s Q2 earnings report due after the close on August 10.
The stock had already moved 1.5% higher in the prior session, trading as high as $18.01 before settling at $17.41. Volume came in at around 10.3 million, down 39% from the average daily volume of 16.8 million.
Despite the recent move, USAR still trades below both its 50-day moving average of $20.10 and its 200-day moving average of $20.52. The stock also remains well below its 52-week high of $43.98.
The company confirmed on August 6 that it will release financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, after U.S. markets close on Monday, August 10.
Analysts are watching closely. Eight analysts currently rate USAR a “Strong Buy” with an average 12-month price target of $37.50, according to available data. A separate consensus from nine analysts puts the average target at $35.83, with a “Moderate Buy” rating.
Recent target changes tell a mixed story. Roth Capital cut its target from $40 to $30 but kept a “Buy” rating.
