TLDR
- ZEC rose about 9% to $1,310 on Nov. 4 and returned to the top 10 by market cap.
- NU7 is set to activate at block 3,543,405, expected around Nov. 5.
- Block times drop from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, and the 21 million supply cap stays.
- Analysts Jesse Olson, Ardi, Altcoin Sherpa and Wick shared price views.
- Zcash Community Grants withdrew its 98,000 ZEC funding proposal.
Zcash climbed about 9% to $1,310 on Nov. 4. The move came one day before a planned network upgrade called NU7.
CoinGecko data showed ZEC at $1,310.03, up 9.4% over 24 hours. The price moved between $1,159.27 and $1,347.03 during the session. That put the privacy coin tenth by market capitalization.

Another CoinGecko reading at 14:35 UTC showed ZEC at $1,274.81, up 7.7%. Trading volume over 24 hours was $1.145 billion. Market cap stood at $21.75 billion.
Over the past seven days, ZEC traded between $1,122.37 and $1,392.21. The token remains about 60% below its all-time high of $3,191.93. It sits more than 7,800% above its all-time low of $16.08.
Circulating supply is 17.022 million ZEC. The maximum supply is 21 million.
Analyst Jesse Olson said in a Nov. 4 X post that ZEC found support at the yellow line on his daily chart. His chart showed the price moving above a descending trendline. He called it a breakout with a pending daily buy signal, which still awaits confirmation.

Analyst Ardi placed his entry condition at $1,370. He said a break above that level could squeeze short positions placed higher. He first named that level on Oct. 27.
At $1,310.03, ZEC would need to gain about 4.6% to reach that trigger. The session high of $1,347.03 stayed below it.
What NU7 changes on the Zcash network
The Zcash Foundation says NU7 activates at mainnet block 3,543,405. The calendar date of Nov. 5 is an estimate, since activation depends on the chain reaching that height.
Zcash blocks get three times faster this week@Zcash is set to switch on its NU7 upgrade at block 3,543,405, expected around Thursday, November 5. Under ZIP 218, the target time between blocks falls from 75 seconds to 25 seconds. The subsidy per block falls by a factor of three. Halving intervals are adjusted to keep the planned issuance timetable.
The foundation says the four-year halving schedule and the 21 million cap do not change. Small rounding differences exist in the subsidy math. Faster blocks do not mean three times as much new ZEC.
Faster blocks also affect exchange deposits. Three confirmations now take nearly four minutes. After activation, they should take about 75 seconds.
NU7 adds a Network Sustainability Mechanism. It places 60% of transaction fees into a reserve, and miners keep the other 40%. Reissuance from the reserve starts later, at block 8,939,664.
Node operators must install compatible software before activation. Seven Zebra security fixes were released alongside the upgrade preparations. They address problems such as stalled synchronization and excessive verification work.
Version 4 transactions become invalid at activation. Sprout transfers depend on that version. The foundation says ZEC left in the Sprout pool will become unspendable.
Altcoin Sherpa said he opened a perpetual futures long the previous night while already holding spot ZEC. He held the position through election-related volatility. He pointed to two outcomes: more interest in financial privacy under a Democratic sweep, or a crypto rally under an unexpected Republican result. He did not tie either one to ZEC’s rise.
$ZEC moving very well, I entered last night on perps but already had a spot bag
Basic idea was that this was a pretty good one to long in both scenarios- either dems sweep and everyone needs privacy to shield assets (lol) or republicans somehow have an upset somewhere and the… pic.twitter.com/0FEWlJiJBB

Analyst Wick, posting as @ZeroHedge_, said the 4-hour ZEC chart showed strength in the recent relief rally. He said an oversold bottom signal started a stage 2 uptrend. He is watching that ZEC holds his red resistance zone as support, and he noted another green dot printed.
Zcash Community Grants withdrew its 98,000 ZEC funding proposal after community feedback. The plan would have moved treasury assets and future grant funds toward mining rewards. It included about 36,200 ZEC from the current treasury.
A rival 50,000 ZEC proposal is backed by Tachyon Group and Shielded Labs. It would send future funding into a development and legal-defense lockbox. That plan would need an upgrade after NU7.
Zcash cofounder Sean Bowe published a draft ZIP on Oct. 26 to end the ZCG 8% share of new issuance and send it to the NSM. The draft has no ZIP number and is not part of NU7. Josh Swihart of ZODL posted on Oct. 30 that the fund should either run to its planned end in November 2028 or be ended in full.
ZCG still receives its 8% allocation until any change is approved and put in place. The development fund is now valued above $300 million.
