TLDR
- XRP surged 50% before pulling back, now trading around $1.44
- A 1 billion XRP escrow unlock is scheduled for September 1
- Analyst warns of a pullback to the $1.10–$1.38 range before any further upside
- Whales withdrew 231 million XRP from Binance — the largest outflow in six months
- The U.S. Senate CLARITY Act vote on Sept. 15 could influence how much XRP Ripple releases
XRP rallied hard last week, gaining around 46% in seven days and briefly touching $1.69. The token opened August 19 at $1.0014, meaning it was trading nearly 48% higher at its peak.

The rally followed a White House meeting between President Trump and crypto industry leaders, including Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse. Trump called on Congress to pass the CLARITY Act, which would divide digital-asset oversight between the SEC and the CFTC.
XRP’s market cap crossed $91 billion during the surge, pushing it briefly into the top four digital assets by market cap.
Since then, momentum has slowed. The token pulled back roughly 12% from its weekly high. The most recent daily close was $1.4554, marking the second straight day of decline.
Analyst Flags Key Support Levels
One crypto analyst described the move as a “pullback after a strong rally and rejection from $1.66 resistance.” The analyst said a retracement to the $1.10–$1.38 range would keep the overall bull market intact.
If that support holds, the analyst sees potential targets at $1.66, $1.93, and $2.25 on the next move up.
Whale activity has also drawn attention. According to CryptoQuant data, whales pulled 231 million XRP from Binance — the largest such outflow in six months. Whale Insider posted on X: “JUST IN: Whales pulled 231 million $XRP from Binance, the largest outflow in six months.” Large exchange outflows are often read as a sign that holders are moving assets to cold storage rather than preparing to sell.

September 1 Unlock in Focus
All eyes are now on September 1, when Ripple’s monthly escrow unlock of 1 billion XRP is due. Ripple has historically re-escrowed a large portion of each monthly release rather than sending it to market.

The U.S. Senate is scheduled to hold a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act on September 15, when lawmakers return from recess. If the bill advances, Ripple has indicated it may release more XRP from escrow to support stablecoin and foreign exchange trading pairs.
The SEC recently accepted a registration statement for the Cryptex Digital Market Cap ETF, which reportedly includes a 4.88% allocation to XRP, with information said to have been provided by Ripple.
Liquidation concentrations are sitting near $1.55 and between $1.42 and $1.45, levels traders are watching closely heading into the unlock.
