XRP is trading near $1.40 after pulling back from its August high of $1.66. The chart structure has improved, and one top analyst says a breakout is now confirmed.

Crypto analyst Ali Martinez posted a 1-hour XRP chart showing the token breaking above a descending trendline that had been capping price movement through the week. Martinez stated: “Breakout Confirmed! XRP has cleared resistance. Next target: $1.70.”

The breakout area around $1.40 is now a key level to hold. If XRP can push through $1.50, that would strengthen the move and bring the $1.70 target into reach.
Beyond $1.70, chart levels to watch are $2.09 and $2.35. On the downside, a drop below $1.37 could push XRP toward $1.20 and put the breakout setup at risk.
Separately, the account XRP Update posted a 4-hour chart showing XRP squeezing inside a descending channel and testing the upper boundary. The post noted that a breakout from that range could push XRP toward $2.00.

ETF Inflows Hit a 2026 High
Spot XRP ETFs in the U.S. pulled in $110.49 million in net inflows for the week ending August 28. That is the strongest weekly result since XRP ETFs launched.

Cumulative ETF inflows have now crossed $1.66 billion, with total net assets near $1.44 billion. Bitwise’s XRP ETF leads the group with over $600 million in cumulative inflows. Franklin’s XRPZ has recorded $462.86 million.
When new money enters these funds, issuers buy XRP on the open market. Sustained inflows above $100 million per week reduce the supply of tokens available on exchanges.
CLARITY Act Vote Set for September 15
XRP traders are watching September 15, when the U.S. Senate is scheduled to hold a cloture vote on the CLARITY Act. The bill would classify XRP and certain other digital assets as digital commodities under federal rules.
The cloture motion needs 60 votes to pass. If it clears that threshold, the Senate could move to a final vote on the bill itself.
XRP last closed above $2 on January 17 this year, after reaching $2.41 in early January. A 42.9% gain from current levels would be needed to get back there — a smaller move than the 70% rally XRP posted earlier in August.
Bitcoin recently traded above $80,000 for the first time in several months. XRP gained around 38% over the two weeks leading up to that move.
The most recent weekly ETF inflow figure of $110.49 million remains the strongest on record for 2026.
