The company added new GSmart tools on September 10, 2026. These AI agents are built directly into the treasury workflows that corporate finance teams use every day.
What GSmart Does
The agents cover areas like liquidity, forecasting, reconciliation, risk and reporting. Each agent watches a specific process, spots a problem, suggests an action and points to the company policy behind that suggestion.
Nothing happens automatically. A human has to approve every action before it executes.
Ripple built the system with a clear split. Deterministic software handles the actual financial calculations. The AI is used to read policy documents, find patterns in data and explain what it found.
This setup is designed to avoid errors. In treasury management, a mistake in a cash movement could cost a company millions.
GSmart is not new. It first launched in June 2025, before Ripple completed its acquisition of GTreasury. The latest update expands it across more of the treasury workflow.
New Features Added
Two new tools come with this release. Knowledge Studio lets treasury teams write in their own policies and controls. The AI checks every recommendation against those controls before surfacing it to a human.
The second tool is Ask GSmart, a conversational assistant that lets finance teams ask questions about their own financial data and get quick answers.
Ripple says adoption is already happening. Sixty percent of eligible customers have turned on Risk Insights, which flags exposure problems and policy breaches. Forty-four percent are using Forecast Insights, which compares expected and actual cash flows.
The platform also now handles digital assets alongside traditional cash. Ripple announced native digital asset support earlier this year. GSmart adds AI-powered insights on top of that.
Renaat Ver Eecke, SVP of Ripple Treasury, said the goal is not to replace human decisions but to make them faster and easier to explain. He said every recommendation is transparent and tied to a company’s own policies.
Gartner projects that the average Fortune 500 company could have more than 150,000 AI agents in use by 2028. Ripple is positioning GSmart as a governed version of that trend, built specifically for treasury teams.
The company was founded in 2012 and holds over 85 licenses. Its products include payments, custody, prime brokerage and treasury management. Its stablecoin RLUSD and digital asset XRP are part of the underlying infrastructure.
Ripple says GSmart is already live across its enterprise customer base.
