Adobe launched its Firefly AI Assistant on Wednesday, a chat-based interface that lets creators describe what they want in plain language and have the assistant handle the rest. The launch pushed ADBE stock up 3.02% to $242.84.
The assistant works across Adobe’s Creative Cloud suite — Photoshop, Premiere, Lightroom, Express, Illustrator and more — executing complex, multi-step workflows from a single conversation.
Instead of learning how to operate individual tools, creators can now just describe the outcome they want. Firefly organizes and runs the workflows behind the scenes.

Adobe says this removes one of the biggest barriers to creative work: having to manually navigate multiple apps and editing steps to get a finished result.
The assistant can also ask follow-up questions, surface decisions, and present suggestions. Creators can step in at any point to guide or adjust the output.
It includes a library of prompt templates for complex tasks, and users can build their own. The assistant learns preferences over time, including tools, workflows, and visual style.
Expanded AI Model Access
Firefly now connects to more than 30 third-party AI models. New additions include Kling 3.0 and Kling 3.0 Omni, Google’s Nano Banana 2 and Veo 3.1, Runway’s Gen-4.5, and ElevenLabs’ Multilingual v2.
This gives creators more flexibility in choosing which AI engine powers their work, all from within the same interface.
The expanded partner model access and new video and image editing features are available today for customers on a Firefly plan.
Video and Image Editing Upgrades
The Firefly Video Editor received a set of new tools. Enhance Speech, previously exclusive to Premiere and Adobe Podcast, is now available inside Firefly Video Editor. It automatically cleans up dialogue and lets users reduce noise, reverb, and balance audio levels.
Color controls let creators fine-tune exposure, contrast, saturation, and temperature using sliders. Adobe Stock integration brings access to over 800 million licensed assets directly inside the Video Editor workflow.
On the image side, Precision Flow lets creators generate a wide range of results from a single prompt and browse variations with a slider. AI Markup gives users control over where edits are applied — using a brush, rectangle tool, or reference image.
Anthropic’s chief commercial officer Paul Smith said the two companies are exploring ways for creators to “conceptualize a project in Claude and reach straight into Adobe Firefly to execute it.”
The Firefly AI Assistant public beta is expected to launch in the coming weeks. Creators can sign up to be notified when it goes live.
