TLDR
- Standard Chartered forecasts tokenized assets on public blockchains will hit $4 trillion by end of 2028
- Chainlink’s CCIP processed roughly $18 billion in transaction volume in Q1 2026
- The $200 LINK price target is linked to Chainlink’s potential role in tokenization growth
- LINK is currently trading around $8.30, about 84% below its all-time high of $52.70
- Analyst Chetan has mapped an Elliott Wave pattern suggesting a long-term reversal could be forming
Chainlink (LINK) is trading around $8.30 at the time of writing, with a market cap of roughly $6.22 billion. The token has been moving in a tight range between $8.26 and $8.38 over the past 24 hours.

Despite the quiet price action, a larger story is building around the token. Standard Chartered has put forward a $4 trillion forecast for tokenized assets on public blockchains by end of 2028, and Chainlink sits at the center of that infrastructure conversation.

The bank’s digital assets analyst Geoffrey Kendrick sees DeFi total value locked growing 37 times to reach $2.7 trillion by 2030. He has also set price targets of $3,500 for AAVE and $100 for UNI as part of the broader DeFi outlook.
A $200 LINK target has been circulating in market reports. This appears to be an interpretation of Chainlink’s potential role in the tokenized asset market, rather than a standalone target directly published by Kendrick.
Chainlink’s CCIP protocol processed about $18 billion in transaction volume in Q1 2026. The technology connects different blockchain networks and allows assets to move across supported chains.
Chainlink’s Role in Institutional Tokenization
Chainlink has worked directly with financial institutions on blockchain projects. This includes cross-border initiatives with Standard Chartered itself, and tokenization work with Brazil’s central bank.
More tokenized assets moving across blockchains would increase demand for oracle and interoperability services. That is the core of the investment case for LINK.
Standard Chartered received MiCA authorization in Europe, which allows it to offer digital asset services across the EU. The bank continues to expand its institutional crypto operations.
Elliott Wave Pattern Points to Potential Recovery
On the technical side, market analyst Chetan shared an Elliott Wave analysis on X. He outlined a scenario where LINK completed five sub-waves in an expanding diagonal structure, with the primary A wave finishing in December 2024.

The chart places LINK inside a corrective primary B phase, with price now sitting near key Fibonacci support. If the pattern plays out, a primary C rally could follow once the correction completes.
Short-term momentum indicators are mixed. The RSI sits at 43.82, below the neutral 50 level. The MACD line is just above zero, showing early signs of a potential uptick but no strong follow-through yet.
LINK is currently 84.21% below its all-time high of $52.70, with circulating supply at approximately 748.10 million tokens and 24-hour trading volume around $106.77 million.
