TLDRs;
- Navitas Semiconductor projects stronger Q3 revenue as AI infrastructure demand accelerates.
- NVTS shares gained as investors focused on improving growth and expanding chip opportunities.
- Distributor concentration remains a major risk despite improving financial performance.
- AI power solutions are expected to become a larger revenue driver in 2026.
Navitas Semiconductor (NASDAQ: NVTS) shares moved higher as investors evaluated the company’s improving revenue outlook and growing role in AI infrastructure power solutions. The semiconductor company provided a stronger third-quarter revenue forecast, signaling that demand for its gallium nitride (GaN) and silicon carbide (SiC) technologies is gaining momentum as artificial intelligence workloads drive demand for advanced power management systems.
The company expects third-quarter revenue to reach a midpoint of approximately $13.5 million, representing a sequential increase of about 28% from the second quarter. The outlook has encouraged investors who are watching whether Navitas can convert rising AI-related demand into broader and more consistent revenue growth.
Navitas stock closed Monday at $11.41, rising 4.5% during regular trading. However, shares declined 2.5% in after-hours trading, settling around $11.13 as investors weighed growth prospects against ongoing business risks.
Revenue Momentum Meets Concentration Risks
Navitas reported second-quarter revenue of $10.53 million, marking a 22% increase from the previous quarter. The company also improved its non-GAAP gross margin by 50 basis points to 39.5%, while reducing its adjusted operating loss by approximately $300,000 to $11.4 million.
Navitas Semiconductor Corp, NVTS
Despite these improvements, investors remain cautious because much of the company’s recent growth has been linked to a single distributor. One distributor represented approximately 71% of Navitas’ second-quarter revenue, increasing concerns about customer concentration and the sustainability of near-term sales expansion.
Revenue through that distributor increased significantly between the first and second quarters, contributing most of the company’s sequential revenue improvement. While distributor relationships can provide access to multiple end customers, investors are looking for evidence that Navitas is expanding demand across a wider customer base.
AI Infrastructure Drives Chip Strategy
A key factor supporting investor optimism is Navitas’ growing exposure to artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company expects AI-related applications to represent more than one-third of sales by the end of 2026 as data centers and high-performance computing systems require more efficient power technologies.
Revenue from high-power applications has already increased by more than 50% compared with the previous year, reflecting rising demand for energy-efficient semiconductor solutions. Navitas’ GaN and SiC technologies are designed to improve power efficiency, making them increasingly relevant as AI companies expand computing capacity.
Management has forecast mid-single-digit revenue growth for the full year, although investors are likely seeking stronger evidence that AI demand can accelerate the company’s transition toward profitability.
Legal Challenges Add Investor Caution
While AI growth prospects have improved sentiment around Navitas, the company continues to face several challenges. Operating cash outflow reached $48.3 million during the first half of the year, nearly double the previous year’s level, highlighting continued pressure from losses.
The company is also dealing with legal disputes involving intellectual property claims. Renesas Electronics filed a lawsuit accusing Navitas of misappropriating trade secrets related to AI power chips, allegations that Navitas has said it plans to challenge.
Additionally, Wolfspeed has filed lawsuits involving GaN and SiC patent disputes, adding another layer of uncertainty for investors evaluating the company’s long-term growth potential.
Navitas recently announced a licensing agreement with Magnachip Semiconductor focused on high-voltage silicon carbide technology, a move that could strengthen its position in next-generation power markets. Investors will closely monitor whether such partnerships translate into meaningful commercial revenue.
