TLDR
- A Shiba Inu whale moved 407.99 billion SHIB to BitGo.
- The wallet had remained inactive for more than three years.
- The transfer was worth about $2.21 million at the time.
- The whale still holds roughly 192 billion SHIB.
- Exchange outflows exceeded inflows by 77.59 billion SHIB.
A Shiba Inu whale has moved 407.99 billion SHIB to BitGo after remaining inactive for more than three years. The transfer came as SHIB traded below the key $0.0000055 level and faced renewed price pressure. The transaction has drawn attention because large exchange-linked transfers can precede selling activity. However, blockchain data alone does not confirm that the holder plans to sell the tokens.
Shiba Inu Whale Ends Three-Year Silence
Arkham data shows that the wallet received 600 billion SHIB on July 16, 2023. The sending wallet had earlier accumulated 10 trillion SHIB before distributing large batches to several addresses. The dormant wallet recorded no outgoing transfers until September 6, 2026. It first moved 836,221 SHIB to buy ETH for gas, then transferred 407,999,431,439 SHIB to a Forwarder address.
The Forwarder address later routed the 407.99 billion SHIB to BitGo. The transfer carried a value of about $2.21 million when the transaction occurred. After the transfer, the Shiba Inu whale still held about 192 billion SHIB. That remaining balance was worth roughly $1.05 million based on the market price at the time.
BitGo provides institutional custody and related digital asset services, so a transfer to its infrastructure does not necessarily mean an exchange sale. The destination can also serve custody, settlement, or other account-management purposes for clients. The transaction followed a similar transfer reported last week. Another large SHIB holder moved 600 billion tokens to BitGo through the same Forwarder routing process.
Exchange Outflows Exceed SHIB Inflows
The latest whale activity differs from wider exchange-flow data. CryptoQuant showed that 260.17 billion SHIB left exchanges over the past 24 hours, while 182.58 billion SHIB entered exchanges. That produced a negative net flow of 77.59 billion SHIB. The data shows that more tokens moved away from exchanges than toward them during the period.
A Shiba Inu whale transfer to BitGo can attract selling concerns, but the broader flow data points in the opposite direction. The wallet movement may reflect a sale, custody change, or internal transfer. SHIB price traded near $0.000005469 at press time, down 1.73% over 24 hours. The decline pushed the token slightly below the $0.0000055 level watched by traders.
Shiba Inu held a market value of about $3.18 billion and ranked as the 29th-largest cryptocurrency. Traders continue to watch whale transfers, exchange flows, and price activity around the $0.0000055 area.
