Three SpaceXAI employees are set to build a startup from the ground up in just 72 hours, streaming every decision live to the world.
Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan, and Roshan Sadanani will kick off the challenge on September 15 and run through September 17. The event is called Grok Bot Galaxy and takes place at a venue in San Francisco.

Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific time each day. A free worldwide livestream will also be available for anyone to watch.
The team enters with nothing decided. No company name, no product, and no idea has been picked yet. All of that will be chosen on camera as the event unfolds.
What Grok Bot Actually Does
The tool at the center of the event is Grok Bot, SpaceXAI’s autonomous agent product. It is not the same as the Grok chatbot that answers questions on X, formerly Twitter.
The company name has not been announced. Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan and Roshan Sadanani will start from a blank slate during the Grok Bot Galaxy livestream (Sept 15-17) and decide the idea, plan and name in real time as they build.

Grok Bot lets users create AI agents, give them names, set objectives, and deploy them across apps and websites. The agents run on persistent cloud computers and can handle multi-step tasks around the clock.
The three builders will use Grok Bot for ideation, planning, product calls, and engineering work. Other colleagues will join for separate sessions covering sales, customer support, and marketing.
Grok Bot has only been available to the public for about a month.
The Company Behind the Test
SpaceXAI was created after SpaceX purchased xAI in February in an all-stock deal that put xAI’s value at $250 billion. In August, the company also acquired coding firm Cursor for $60 billion.
Elon Musk has made large public claims about Grok throughout the year. A three-day unedited build is a harder thing to stage than a short demo clip.
Still, this is a vendor testing its own product. How much the three humans need to steer, fix, or step in for the agents will be a key thing to watch.
The event comes the same week that rival lab Anthropic published a report on misuse of its Claude models, covering areas like cyber operations and fraud. Musk acknowledged that Grok is not currently the default choice in some arenas.
Questions about accountability when AI agents act without direct human input remain open across the industry.
By the end of the stream on September 17, it should be clear whether the team has built a working product with real users, or simply a name and a landing page.
