TLDR
- SUI trades near $1.15, holding above the $1.00 support level that used to be resistance.
- Sui Network partnered with ONE Championship as a Platinum Sponsor for Basecamp 2026 in Singapore.
- Open interest has climbed past $1 billion, one of the strongest readings in months.
- Derivatives volume is nearing $3 billion, well above August levels.
- Analyst Ali Charts points to a golden cross forming, with a target near $4.
SUI is trading at $1.15, down 0.93% over the past day. The token continues to hold above the $1.00 level that traders have watched closely in recent weeks.

That $1.00 mark has flipped from resistance into support. Buyers pushed the price as high as $1.25 to $1.30 before some profit-taking set in.
Sui also made news outside the charts this week. The network announced ONE Championship as a Platinum Sponsor for Sui Basecamp 2026, an event set to take place in Singapore.
Where will the next billion Sui users come from?
Our bet is a billion people watching a fight, one app away from their first Sui transaction.@ONEChampionship and @officialSUIG join us as Platinum sponsors, with @SlushWallet joining as a Gold sponsor at Sui Basecamp.
— Sui (@SuiNetwork) September 29, 2026
Sui Network’s official account on X shared the news directly. The post said “the next billion Sui users” could come from sports fans who are just one app away from their first blockchain transaction.
The partnership gives Sui another real-world adoption story. It puts the network in front of a sports audience ahead of TOKEN2049 Singapore.
Open Interest And Volume Climb
CoinGlass data shows open interest has risen past $1 billion. That is one of the strongest readings recorded in recent months.
Open interest rising alongside price often means new money is entering the market. It also points to more derivatives traders taking positions on SUI.
Trading volume has grown too. Derivatives volume is nearing $3 billion, a level well above what the market saw through much of August.
Short liquidations were common during the rally. That happens when traders betting on a price drop are forced to close their positions as the token climbs.
Some long liquidations followed too. That suggests certain traders locked in gains after SUI approached $1.30.
What Analysts Are Saying
Raoul Pal, co-founder of Real Vision and a board member of the Sui Foundation, discussed Sui on the Milk Road podcast. He said the smart contract market will likely shrink to a handful of winners, and he places Sui in that group.
Pal compared blockchains to cloud computing and programming languages, where three to five leaders take most of the market. He said Ethereum currently leads, holding roughly 70% of the stablecoin market and over 70% of DeFi activity.
He pointed to three features he sees as strengths for Sui: programmable transaction blocks that allow up to 1,024 actions in one transaction, zero-fee stablecoin transfers, and privacy and quantum-readiness features.
SUI: GOLDEN CROSS. TARGET $4.$SUI is on the verge of printing a new golden cross, with the 50-day SMA beginning to cross above the 200-day SMA.
This is typically viewed as a major bullish trend signal and could mark the beginning of a longer-term bull market.

Analyst Ali Charts also weighed in on the technical setup. Ali Charts posted that SUI is close to printing a golden cross, where the 50-day moving average crosses above the 200-day moving average, and noted that the last two golden crosses in December 2023 and October 2024 were followed by rallies of roughly 240% and 222%, adding that a similar move this time could push SUI toward $4.
Pal said Sui currently has between 150,000 and 250,000 daily active users. He noted that reaching 1 million users would mark a bigger shift for Sui than it would for Solana, which already has a larger user base.
For now, the $1.00 level remains the one traders are watching most closely, with $1.30 standing as the next resistance area above current prices.
